Eagles extend the 'Long Road'
The Eagles will work their way into fall with a newly expanded run of US dates.
The veteran rockers, who wrapped the latest leg of their North American tour last Saturday (8/2), will start up again Sept. 6 in Tulsa, OK, and play shows around the South and Midwest through the month's end. Since last check, dates have been added in Nashville; Minneapolis; Little Rock, AR; and Green Bay, WI. Two-night stands are booked in Houston, Dallas and Chicago. Details are listed below.
On the road, Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit are performing classic Eagles songs, hits from their solo careers and tunes from last year's seven-times-platinum "Long Road Out of Eden," which marked the band's first collection of new material in 28 years.
The new two-disc set topped The Billboard 200 and the Top Country Albums chart in November, and remains on those charts after 39 weeks. The single "Busy Being Fabulous" is holding steady at No. 12 on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart after 25 weeks.
A second hit single from the album, "How Long," earned the Eagles a Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
Henley recently told the New Brunswick Business Journal that more touring is ahead.
"We will do this as long as people want to come and see us," the musician said. "There will be some solo projects, if time allows, but, right now, the Eagles come first."
The Eagles have sold more than 120 million albums worldwide, earning five No. 1 singles and five Grammy Awards, according to a press release. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers' "Greatest Hits 1971-1975" has reached 29-times platinum and is the best-selling album of all time in the US.
