help in playing video and mp3 on site

hiii i am new in php and i am developing a site that allow the user to chose video and then go to view it . and if he like it he can download and the same for mp3 .
so can any one help me with that .or you can tell me where i can read about it .

There are many free flash-based mp3 players available for use that you can implement, check here. As far as video, you would first have to decide on a format that you will use / allow.

i would need to know more info about the scope of your site for anything else.

my site is providing the user with data that he can use for his mobile like application, software,image.wallpapers,tones,video....etc
so the user will register and then he can download all kind of data he want .
the data is dividing in categories and sub-categories.
the user can view all thing he want before download it .

i would like to ask u in som pages i need to send data to another page like when the user select category=image .
so i do

i do

and i use it in mysql query i feel that is not secure to do that .
if the user change cat_name the
mysql query in the second page will not work
so what can i do else .to prevent that thing
