CG’s John Biggs Signs a Big Boy Book Deal
by Peter Ha on August 7, 2008

Wow. I’m completely speechless right now. Our very own Editor-in-chief John Biggs has himself a real book deal. That’s not to say his previous foray with “Black Hat: Misfits, Criminals, and Scammers in the Internet Age” was anything to scoff at, but Biggityboo’s (that’s what I like to call him) ” book was the object of an intense two-day auction involving six houses, including Collins and The Penguin Press.” Dial Press came out on top with an offer that’s said to be over $300,000. Watch out, folks, someone’s big time now.

So what’s Biggs going to be writing about? Read all about it at CrunchGear.

why dont you just put story here

Because then they wouldn’t be able to trick TC users and inflate CrunchGear’s numbers.

why is it that everytime i go to techcrunch i keep getting a clicking sound as if im navigating, problem is that the webpage never changes. leave TC and the clicking stops.

The clicking sound you’re hearing is that damn i-stage 728×90 ad on the top. It’s on a loop and keeps resetting itself.

You don’t get ad impressions unless you have multiple page clicks.

Marie Antoinette and Antoine Lavoisier were dirty French monarchists. I hope he puts that in his book. They deserved the beheadings that they got. Had the English done the same it would be a better world. Who cares about a watch.

Chil-lax man. Lavoisier seemed such a nice guy who advanced the science of chemistry. What’s your problem?

He did it at the expensive of the downtrodden public. Rust is hardly a huge advance. It would have been discovered anyway. He was notorious for oppressing and censoring anyone who had a difference of opinion with his.

Such is the case with all royalty. The storming of the Bastille was the best day in European history aside from the day Hitler shot himself.

Gentlemen, behave! You are the lead emplyoees of a company that is valued (or values itself) in the range of 80 million usd. A 300k bookdeal is a deal, but no big deal, don’t you think? Braging about this kind of things only demonstrates intentions that you may not want to show outsiders. Keep calm, wait some time and cash in bigtime with TCs sell out.

Here is the rest of the article -

“So what’s Biggs going to be writing about? Marie Antoinette’s watch is the subject of Biggs’ affection and it happens to be the name of the book as well. Apparently the watch took over 44 years to make and Antoinette never even saw it, but it was the “iPhone of its day”, says Biggs’ literary agent Larry Weissman.”

Wasn’t worth the extra click :(

Nobody buys books anymore.

Congrats John, I wish I had to ability to write a book. Good luck!!
