Why Can’t Apple Trademark the iPhone in China?

The iPhone is one of the biggest Phones ever! It is the only phone, that i know of, that even has its own Dev Team. Its just that big. Why? iPhone is the best because of its technology. Its basically a mini Mac, but unlike other smart phones its easy to use. Why wouldn’t want one!? But thats not a option for people in china. Why can’t china have the iPhone trademarked? Because a Chinese Developer has already made a cheap imitation called the I-Phone. Clashing names causes a problem. No two products can have the same name. However, a law office in Beijing that is specialized in intellectual property has told Apple that they can introduce the iPhone under another name, but Apple has had iPhone trademarked since 2002! Why should they change!? When the I-Phone (not to be confused with iPhone) producers launched the I-Phone two years later they mentioned they would NOT negotiate the rights on the name. Here’s the scary part, Hanwang dosen’t want to say what they’d do if Apple launches the iPhone. Im guessing….WAR!

How to Edit Icon Names on 3.0

As you may know the 3.0 firmware has some changes in some of the Icon names. The one most common is the SMS app. Going from Text to Messages will make Any them designed for 2.x not have the custom Text icon. How do you fix this? You can do this from your Computer using SSH, or Your iPhone/iPod using iFile. Read the whole article for both ways.

Using your Computer:

When you use your computer you need a program called SSH. This can be done using any SSH program such as WinSCP or CuteFTP. Also, make sure you have OpenSSH Installed from Cydia. After you get SSH working, (For any help in SSH search Ty’s YouTube for the SSH tutorial) You can begin editing the names of files to make the icons work. Go into your Themes folder and find your theme. Go to the “Icons” folder and find the Icon you need to change. After that name it the way the application is named. NOTE: It is very important that you name it correctly or it won’t work! Ex: To change the SMS app name the Text.png to Messages.png. (Using Caps and everything)

Using your iPhone or iPod Touch:

Another way you can do, which i find easier, is to use your iPhone itself. When using your iPhone/iPod Touch you will need a Mobile Finder program. The only one, that i know of, that is in 3.0 is iFile. (For more information on iFile click HERE) After you have that installed go into the Themes folder and once again find your theme. Find the “Icons” folder and look for your Icon. basically the same proses as the SSH, just from your iPhone. Once again remember to name the files AS IT IS.

iFile - Mobile Finder for 3.0

If you remember back on 2.x, then you may remember Mobile Finder. Mobile Finder was a really awesome application that allowed you to go through your Mobile Files on your iPhone or iPod Touch. It was really useful when it came to deleting things. Instead of opening up SSH, you could just use that. The bad thing is that on 3.0 Mobile Finder isn’t supported. So where are you going to go for Mobile Finders? You could use iFile. iFile is almost the same, but better! You can still look through all your mobile files, but you can do it with style and speed. Auto Tune! One word that made rap what it is today. Many rappers use Auto Tune in their music making it have a techno effect. One rapper that EVERYONE knows that uses it is T-Pain. According to HipHopDX the makers of the Auto Tune are working on a revolutionary new product. This would be a Auto Tune app for the iPhone. Apparently it would take the vocal-transforming technology to your iPhone. According to Georganna Drayton, the company is negotiating the roll-out and programming of the application. According to Drayton the app will use the Software and beats from T-Pain straight from your iPhone. This app has no plans to be on ALL phones, just the App Store. This has yet to have a release date. We hope it comes out soon!!!

11 Year Old Develops a Maths iPhone App

Yet again we see another young kid making his way into the growing market for developing iPhone and iPod Touch applications. 11 year old Voorhes Owen has made a popular mathematical app available in the App Store now. But it wasn’t just him that made the app, he had help from his younger brother. This really shows that people of almost any age can make iPhone apps and become successful while doing it. The application consists of adding, subtraction, multiplication and division. I’ve tried the app and it usually solves the equation rather quickly. Voorhes done the coding himself, but his bother of 9 helped out with the images, with the use of Photoshop. Add his dad submitted with a Developer account because as you can see they were just a bit too young to be able to do that.

The app is called MathTime and only costs $0.99. You can download it here.

Is your iPhone 3G S overheating? Reports to Apple show that some are having issues with their iPhone overheating. What causes this? Direct contact with the sun can be one cause. Using applications like GPS and iPod while in the sun for long periods of time could cause this as well. Maybe even leaving your iPhone in the car on a hot day. Whatever the reason Apple documents show that there are warnings on the overheating iPhone making it unusable while its hot, this does not include emergency calls. What is the result? Some cases have seen a burn mark on the back of their iPhone. As shown in this picture you can see the discolor on the back. Another report shows that faulty battery can lead to the heat, and may even be recalled. Apple has yet to make a response to this issue so far, but if you do have issues with this you can go to any Apple store and get a new iPhone. If this is the case act quick because others may have this same problem, and as some reports claim Apple is running out of the iPhone quick. Video inside
