I could not agree more! We need to stop telling people earning PhD’s at our universities that they can’t stick around to contribute to our industries and academic institutions.

Sending them home to invent the next Google in their home country is a lost opportunity.

Presumably more value is being captured either by AdMob or maybe even Publishers by way of removing a middle man.

I think the more important question is “how many $99 iPhones did Apple sell?”

Hitting the sub-hundred dollar price point has historically been key to adoption of mobile phones and it will be interesting to see if this holds true for the iPhone where the monthly subscription can cost nearly as much as the device itself.
