Stolen crown found at police station

Officials with the Museum of Ethnography said the crown, part of a Mongolian woman's costume, disappeared during a power blackout in 1984 and was not seen again until the Swedish Police Service stumbled upon it during renovation of its main Stockholm offices this year, The Local reported Friday.

Police said the crown was found in a bag that was confiscated from a burglar more than 20 years ago. The bag also contained silver cutlery and other valuable items.

Old monkey dead at Utah zoo

Zoo spokeswoman Holly Braithwaite said the monkey, Jocco, died in its sleep June 13 and a sign has been placed at the monkey's habitat to inform "his friends," The Salt Lake Tribune reported Friday.

The spokeswoman said Jocco may have been as old as 45, but there is some dispute about its age due to the zoo's practice of naming dominant males "Jocco" in the 1960s.

"So, whenever one would die, the next one would become Jocco," she said.

Braithwaite said the naming practice makes it difficult to pinpoint the monkey's age at the time of its death..

Police: Man bit wife during dog argument

Donald Paul, 51, of St. Charles, was arrested and charged with battery Wednesday evening after he allegedly bit his wife and threw her cell phone to the ground when she tried to call for help, the Kane County (Ill.) Chronicle reported Friday.

St. Charles police spokesman Paul McCurtain said the couple had been arguing in a parked minivan about who would care for their dog.

"He allegedly bit his wife on the left wrist in an attempt to get the dog from her," McCurtain said. The woman's injuries did not require treatment at a hospital.

Career expo called off due to job shortage

Marietta City Council member Anthony Coleman said the Marietta/Cobb Career Expo, which had been planned for the autumn at the Cobb County Civic Center, was canceled with the approval of the Georgia Labor Department because very few of the companies planning to attend have available jobs, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Friday.

"I didn't want to give people false hope there were jobs out there when there were not," Coleman said.

He said officials are hoping to restart the career expo next year.

Rep says Maguire's son named Otis Tobias

People.com said Friday the unidentified representative offered no explanation for the newborn's name, but the Web site did explain that Tobias is the formal version of Maguire's first name.

The 34-year-old star of the "Spider-Man" trilogy is married to 32-year-old Jennifer Meyer. The couple met in 2003 and has a 2-year-old daughter, Ruby.
Otis Tobias Maguire was born May 8.
