Pictures of Glyde 2 has been leaked by a member of Howard Forums. Also called as U960, the phone is considerably bigger than the first Glyde but adds a nice large touchscreen, TouchWiz UI and a four-row keyboard. Though the exact features are not known, we can take some cues from the original Glyde. The new phone can be expected to carry a larger camera, presumably 3.2MP with autofocus and flash, 3G, A-GPS, microSD card slot, music player etc.

It looks as if Sony has pulled a similar thing to Microsoft’s Project Natal but with a major difference that the Japanese company’s version uses everyday objects as the controllers. A new patent filed by Sony shows that any three dimensional object in the real world could act as a controller for a PS3 game. The controller works in tandem with Sony’s EyeToy camera that first needs to be registered with the console and can be done by rotating and scanning the object to save it for future use.

This patent actually is an interesting one because it was just a month back when they unveiled their LED equipped Wand controller and also opined that “some experiences need buttons”, which won’t be clearly in this case.

We have got the first iPhone 3GS jailbreaking tool dubbed as purplera1n. As you would have got the hint by looking at the tool’s name, this solution is not created by the iPhone Dev team but rather by George Hotz aka GeoHot. Apparently, pissed off by the team’s decision to wait for OS 3.1 made GeoHot release this tool. Any which ways, it’s a major win for 3GSers who have been waiting to do it.

MSI has launched their first notebook from the Classic Series in India. The 14-incher CR400 tries to bring a classic timeless look with exquisite industrial design and performance. The CR400 is carved from a unibody material and boasts MSI’s Color Film Print design that reflects different design patterns when exposed to light at different angles.

Regarding the innards, the 2kg notebook features an unspecified Core 2 Duo processor, 14-inch 16:9 LED backlit display (1366×768), up to 4GB RAM, up to 500GB HDD, GeForce 8200M G GPU, 1.3MP webcam, DVD writer, Wi-Fi, optional Bluetooth, 4-in-1 card reader and a 6-cell battery. It also has ECO mode to enhance the battery life and keyboard touting Ergonomic De-Stress technology.

The notebook is selling in retail shops for Rs. 33,000.

Hail FCC because we wouldn’t have known what PSPgo packs inside unless confirmed by Sony or ever interested hackers. Sony Insider unearthed a FCC filing of PSPgo (also referred PSP-N1001) that reveals the processor clock speed of the console. The official specs suggest 333MHz but in reality the maximum clock speed supported by PSPgo is 480MHz, meaning that the current CPU speed is underclocked. This definitely is good news for those going for the console because there’s a high probability Sony might open it up to via a firmware update later on.

Nokia’s Ovi Maps 3.0 has graduated from the beta labs and can now be downloaded from the Nokia Maps portal. The graduated final build comes in with some nifty features like traffic report for North America, ironed out bugs and UI enhancements. Google Maps for many might be a sophisticated navigation app but for those who don’t have GPRS activated and want to use the GPS navigation, Ovi Maps is the thing to look out for.

Personally, I like Ovi Maps but downloading Nokia Maps Updater before I can install the Maps app on my phone is kinda an absurd move. On top of it, the Update software cannot be installed from any other OS except Windows or even from the WAP site.

UPDATE: an iPhone 3GS jailbreak tool ‘Purplera1n’ has been released.

The iPhone Dev Team has done it again. Check out the video showing the iPhone 3GS succumbing to Ultrasn0w and working flawlessly over another network (T-Mobile in this case). The Ultrasn0w tool uses at+xlog vulnerability to inject the unlocking payload, which actually works like the iPhone 3G unlock. One word of caution though, 3GSers should not update to the iPhone OS 3.1 if they want this unlock.

So how much are willing to pay for an 886g 12.1-inch notebook? How about 2.5 grand? Yup, if you’re game for one of the lightest ultraportable notebooks in the market, Mitsubishi will be selling these from tomorrow in Japan. Specs include: 12.1-inch WXGA (1280×800) screen, Vista Business OS, 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 ULV CPU, 3GB RAM, 64GB SSD, Wi-Fi, memory card reader, LAN port and FeliCa card support. The super expensive Aura has got more expensive thanks to special edition put out by Motorola. They are selling the Aura Celestial Edition in order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the moon’s landing. As with every special edition, expect this one too includes bells and whistles like the original NASA content of the landing in the form of videos, images and sound files. Every Celestial Edition Aura will also be etched with a quote “Motorola AURA Celestial Edition, Honouring the Apollo 11 mission, 20th July 1969″.

No word on the exact pricing but yea, expect to shell out a premium over Aura’s going $2000 price.
