WiMax is said to be growing mostly in developing nations such as Africa, the Middle East, India, Europe and Asia, and following the recent 16% drop in revenue this growth is needed.

Some of the growth breakdown is also said to be caused by the initial success of WiMax, therefore some people see this pause of growth as a chance to re-organize. Hopefully with the upcoming prospects of WiMax the company’s involved will be able to deal with quick growth a lot better.

Following lots of complaints an online ad for Internet Explorer 8 has been removed, the ad is said to have shown a woman projectile vomiting. Shortly after the complaints Microsoft removed the ad.

The ad apparently showed a woman looking through her husband’s history which results in her vomiting. Apparently the a video can still be seen on YouTube. The ad was meant to promote Internet Explorer 8’s InPrivate browsing feature, instead of promoting Internet Explorer 8’s functionality it ended up causing controversy.

A lot of viewers were said to be so disgusted with the ad that they thought that it was a fake, presumably made by Apple users.
Microsoft stated “We make a point of listening to our customers”, and the intention of the a was meant to be tongue in cheek.

Check out the full statement on ComputerWorld.

Did you see the ad? What was your thought?

According to InformationWeek the recent release of the iPhone 3GS is a big factor in AT&T setting a new single-day sales record. The iPhone 3GS was released on AT&T on June 19th and set many different records for the company.

Not only was the iPhone 3GS a big factor in the reason that AT&T had their best ever sales day, but it was also a big contribution to the second largest traffic day that AT&T had ever seen. Another AT&T record that the iPhone was a big factor in was “the most transactions processed by its IT systems in a single day”.

The fact that AT&T had exclusivity for the iPhone 3GS is said to have brought the company thousands of new customers. Apple reported that more than a million iPhone 3GS handsets were sold within the first three days.

Check InformationWorld for full details.

There are rumors emerging that state that Microsoft will offer a multi-license ‘family pack’ version of their Windows 7 Operating System. Apparently if you read the EULA (End User License Agreement) there are references mentioning the previously unannounced family pack.

There is a section in the EULA which is titled ‘Installation And Use Rights’, within this section a sentence reads ‘If you are a Qualified Family Pack User’, this seems to suggest that a Family Pack will be released, reading more into the EULA it seems to suggest that the Family Pack will allow Windows 7 to be installed on up to three computers in one household.

Apparently the Family Pack is available for Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 7 Home Premium E (European). It is doubtful that this will be available for other versions of Windows 7 as Home Premium is the most suited for a household environment.

As more details emerge we will keep you informed, check out ComputerWorld for the original report.

As reported from Information Week, the latest App to be banned by Apple is called ‘BeautyMeter’. The App allows users to view user-submitted images of males and females and then rate them based on the image.

Apple has removed the App after it contained topless pictures of a 15 year old female, along with a similar app called ‘Hottest Girl’.

It seems like the problem could get out of hand in future if Apple don’t carefully moderate the Apps that they originally approve.

What are your thoughts on this?

You might want to pay particular interest to this story as it has been revealed that Microsoft are planning to index Twitter updates in ‘real-time’ for their new search engine Bing.

As reported from PCWorld, it means that users of Bing will be able to see recent status updates from the popular social networking site, when they conduct a search using Bing.

At the moment though, it is thought Microsoft are only planning to include ‘Tweets’ from some of the most significant sources, according to this story here.

Palm have stated that they will announce more details on July 7th. If this does turn out to be true it will be huge for O2 as they already have exclusivity for the Apple iPhone 3G S.

O2 have been rumoured to be the first UK supplier of the Palm Pre since back in May, apparently the UK network Vodafone were competing for the exclusive but seem to have missed out.

With O2 seemingly having exclusives to two of the most popular handsets available today this is sure to attract more customers, we will keep you updated as more news emerges.

This patch is said to be released within the next few weeks. The release will be called Firefox 3.5.1 and is said to fix at least three bugs and also sort sort out some ‘topcrashes’.

Mozilla received over 6.5million downloads within the first 36 hours of the release, and on the whole it has been a success. There is a common crash with Firefox 3.5’s new JavaScript Engine TraceMonkey, this problem has been fixed and is just waiting for the rest of the patch to be finsihed before its released.

If you receive any crashes be sure to report them to help Mozilla smooth out common problems, if you do come across a problem Mozilla usually prompts you with Mozilla Crash Reporter.

The vulnerability is said to be with SMS message handling, and Apple are said to be working on a fix.

Apple are doing their best to have a fix ready before 25th-30th of July, this is due to the Black Hat USA conference which takes place on these dates.

A security researcher named Charlie Miller is said to have found the security vulnerability and is said to present his findings during the Black Hat USA conference. This is not the first time Miller has found vulnerabilities with Apple software, last year he won awards for exploiting previously unknown vulnerabilities in their Safari Web browser.

On the McLaren website they have recently put up a job posting, they are looking for a Senior Engineer for Powertrain Hybrid Technology. This certainly offers us a few ideas as to where the company is heading with its future road cars.

Autocar asked McLaren for more details on the job listing, but a spokesman would not confirm if this form of hybrid technology would be used on one of its road cars. We know that the KERS system has not been popular in F1, but it is agreed that McLaren’s system is the best in the field and having it in a road car would certainly be a great idea. BMW and Ferrari are also thought to be bringing its KERS system to its road cars, not that they have had a great track record with their systems.

Nokia Ovi Maps 3.0 is now live, but it seems that a number of users might find it hard to make the switch from Google Maps. IntoMobile explains how he would like to say how great they think Nokia Ovi Maps 3.0 is, but they do not find any reason to move away from Google Maps.

IntoMobile goes on to say that if you live in a nation that have expensive data plans and want turn-by-turn instructions, then the new Nokia Maps is for you as you can preload maps. If you do not fall into one of those categories, then you should just stick with Google Maps.

The problem with the new Nokia Maps is certain to annoy a number of users and the reason for this is simple, you will have to download the file on to your computer first so that you can install the application on to your phone. That file will only work on a PC, but if you have a Mac, chances are you have an iPhone anyway.

Nokia Ovi Store launched in May, and is the latest Application store to try and take on the might that is the Apple App Store.

The thing that I fee grabs your attention more then anything is the way it fits in with Windows 7.

There are 14 slides in all and they show a couple of different views of Word, Excel, Access and Outlook. Quite a lot of emphasis is put on the new ribbon bar, the ribbon bar seems to be very useful when it comes to Outlook. The slides also show us how much the re-design of the applications has take place.

Don’t forget to check the SlideShow on InfoWorld.

What your thoughts on the new Office 2010? Will you buy it?

With all these changes and how much redesign Apple are undertaking a lot of experts believe that this will be the update for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.

Beta testers are extremely impressed with the release and from what we can gather all in all there are only just over 50 fixes which have been made during the complete Beta stage of this release.

The main issues that have been fixed relate to USB audio distortion, power management with firewire and problems with Bluetooth printers. Apparently there is only one current unfixed known issue, this is an issue which occurs when saving email to your hard drive, this issue is expected to be fixed soon.

Check AppleInsider for more details.

Nvidia are said to be developing an Ion 2 which is expected to be released in the latter part of the year.

Nvidia are keeping quiet on the new chipset however some details have been leaked, whether they are correct or not is yet to be seen.

The Ion 2 is said have almost twice the processing performance of the original Ion, with this improvement graphics should be cleared and faster. The Ion 2 is currently in its early stages of development so these are not hard figures at present, either way it is a good thing for the notebook industry.

As more becomes clear on the Ion 2 we will keep you posted, be sure to check out Engadget and SlashGear for more information.

The three month growth equalled approximately 4% for the quarter, if figures continue to stay this way Apple will have an annual growth of around 12%, this figure is slightly shy of their 14 % average yearly growth over the last three years, however given the current economic climate Apple shouldn’t be too disappointed with it.
