The Samsung Pixon12 phone will launch in Aug 1st, in the UK, exclusively at Phones4U. You can pre-order it today. It is only available with a plan (for 40pounds a month).

The Pixon 12 has a 3.1" touch AMOLED, 12MP camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, Geo-tagging, HSUPA and instant-share to popular sites such as Flickr or Facebook.

The Samsung i8910 Omnia HD (3.7" AMOLED) is now available unlocked in the US

Amazon.com now lists the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD, unlocked, for 700$. The Omnia HD has a 3.7" touch AMOLED, 360x640, 16:9 aspect ratio.

The i8910 runs Symbian S60 OS, it's capable of HD video capture at 24fps, and has a 8mp camera, DNLA connectivity, Wi-Fi and GPS. It is still not launched with any network in the US.

Samsung says they got more than 2M pre-orders for the JET phone

Samsung says that they have got more than 2M pre-orders for their new Jet phone - that's the best pre-order sales for any Samsung phone. The phone has impressive features, but it's not exactly a smartphone (it uses the TouchWiz 2.0 OS). Besides a 3.1" touch OLED, it's got a 800Mhz processor, 5Mp camera, browser and DivX support.

It is available now in the UK, for 350pound (570US$) unlocked, and will be released next month in 50 countries.

Samsung says that the Samsung Ultra Touch has sold over 1.8M units, before its worldwide release. The Ultra Touch has a smaller touch OLED (2.8" WQVGA), and is available in the US for 500$ unlocked.

More details on Samsung's OLED e-passort prototype

Samsung has been showing their OLED e-passport (or ID card) prototype for a long time, and now we found this nice video which gives some more details.

It turns out that the flexible OLED is 2" QVGA 240x320, 260K colors and 10,000: contrast ratio. The display is so low on power it uses just the RF power - it automatically powers up when closed to the RFID reader.

There's still no details on when this will become a real product...

Samsung is showing a new S-shaped flexible OLED display:

The display is 2" QVGA (240x320), supports 260K colors, has 200cd/m2 luminance and 10,000:1 contrast ratio. It's only 0.05mm thick...

This is a nice demo, and actually I can see this being a unique photo frame product... I'd be happy to have one myself...

Samsung officially announces the Louvre B7610, with a 3.5" 800x480 AMOLED

Samsung has officially announced the new Omnia Pro phone lineup, including the Louvre B7610. It's got a 800x480 3.5" touch AMOLED. The QWERTY slider has also got a HSDPA 7.2Mbps, A-GPS, 5Mp camera, FM Radio, Wi-Fi, microSDHC slot and an Accelerometer. It will run Windows Mobile 6.1 pro.

Samsung joins OLED lighting race, shows prototypes

It turns out that Samsung (SMD) have started to develop OLED lighting modules. They have already shown a prototype at SID.

SMD showed two 200mmx200mm panels, and seven smaller panels (150mmx50mm). This is interesting, as Samsung are the leaders in AMOLED displays, and they will face a tough battle in OLED lighting from companies such as OSRAM, GE, Philips and others...

Another leaked Samsung phone - the Louvre B7610 with a 3.5" AMOLED

The Louvre B7610 QWERTY slider has been rumored since about January this year, but now we hear more info, including an alleged 3.5" 800x480 (WVGA) touch AMOLED display.

Samsung's Omnia 2 leaks, will have a 3.7" touchscreen AMOLED

As usual, Samsung phones seems to be leaked ahead of launch. The new GT-I8000, or Omnia 2 will have a 3.7" WVGA (800x480) AMOLED, 8.1Mp camera capable of 30fps video. It's a HSDPA phone with custom UI.

The 800x480 AMOLED panels were announced by Samsung just last week.
