PSPad editor is a programmers editor with support for multiple syntax highlighting profiles. It comes with a hex editor, CP conversion, text differences, templates, macros, spellcheck option, auto-completion, Code Explorer and much more. The program is pre-configured for the most popular programming languages (VB, C++, SQL, PHP, ASP, Python etc.) and you can further customize the syntax settings. More Windows 7 E details emerge

Microsoft has revealed a few more details about Windows 7 E, the version of their next operating system that will be released in Europe without Internet Explorer. The information is primarily focused at developers who may be affected when creating applications that use Internet Explorer based controls but also provides some more general information. The details, posted on the Windows 7 for Developers blog, reveal that using Windows 7 E will be similar to using the full version of Windows 7 but with the Internet Explorer component disabled. This is also how they suggest that developers can test their software for compatibility with Windows 7 E, as builds of it are currently unavailable to testers.

Microsoft set to launch a music streaming service this month

The Telegraph is exclusively reporting that Microsoft is planning to launch a streaming music service, similar to Spotify, later this month. The service will allow users to stream music for free and also download to own. Peter Bale, executive producer of MSN, Microsoft's news and entertainment portal, told The Telegraph exclusively: "Music is an important area for Microsoft. We are looking at launching a music streaming service imminently. It will be a similar principle to Spotify but we are still examining how the business model will work." Spotify users can stream tracks for free from the web service which is supported by advertising.

Apple tablet rumor re-surfaces, on sale in October

When a rumor never seems to fade into the past and is frequently brought up over and over again generally there is some truth to the matter. Reports are surfacing again that Apple will be releasing a tablet PC in October for around $800.00. That's a direct statement which means that the source in hand must be fairly confident that the information received is accurate. More interestingly is that the new information matches up with previous rumors. "Taiwan's high-tech supply chain companies said Apple will debut its first netbook in October; Apple will pose itself to tackle the Christmas shopping season.

O2 announces free Twitter alerts via SMS

O2 will begin offering free SMS Twitter alert services beginning August 1 for UK customers. An O2 spokesperson confirmed that O2 has "teamed up with Twitter to turn Twitter updates into free text messages, meaning @ replies and direct messages just got a little more direct." From the start of August, every O2 customer will be able to switch on text notifications within Twitter and receive replies and direct messages, free. O2 users will also be able to send updates to Twitter as part of their normal text message bundle or for the cost of a normal text. Once enabled, users will be alerted when they have an @reply or direct message.

Microsoft unveils Office Web Applications 2010, Mobile 2010

Microsoft has officially revealed its Office Web Applications offerings ahead of the announcements at this years Worldwide Partner Conference today. Company officials have posted several "what's new" videos onto the Microsoft Showcase site. The what's new videos range from Word through to Outlook and some highlight the Web Applications and "Microsoft Mobile 2010". Blogger Long Zheng noticed the videos on Microsoft's site today. Office Web Applications 2010 In the what's new video for Office Web Applications 2010, Word, Powerpoint and Excel are demonstrated. Microsoft also confirms these work on PC or Mac and in Firefox as can be seen below.

Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Conference 09 - Keynote LIVE

Microsoft's annual Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) kicks off today at 8:30am CDT (see all time zones). Stephen Elop, president of the Microsoft Business Division, will begin the keynotes at 8:30am CDT. Elop oversees the Information Worker, Microsoft Business Solutions, and Unified Communications Groups. This division is responsible for the Microsoft Office system of programs, servers and software-based services. We expect Elop to demonstrate the range of Office Web Applications and detail the Office 2010 private beta. Bill Veghte, senior vice president for the Windows business, will also join Elop in the announcements. Veghte is responsible for Sales and marketing across Windows and Windows Live and OEM sales. Updated Office 2010 technical preview build leaks

An updated version of Microsoft's upcoming Office 2010 technical preview has leaked onto the internet, days before the company is due to launch a private beta today. Office 2010 build 14.0.4302.1000 is the latest to work its way out of the Redmond based software giant. Office 2010 has been surrounded with leaks from screenshots leaking early to beta builds leaking early. Office 2010 promises tighter integration with Windows 7, full Ribbon UI for Outlook and compatibility with Microsoft's forthcoming Office Web Applications. This latest leaked build allows you to switch themes for Office 2010. Neowin revealed last week that Microsoft is planning a private beta today at its Worldwide Partner Conference in New Orleans.

You have the WPF desktop client, which is called "Bdule", the world's 1st Silverlight 3.0 powered web version "Sobees Web" & the "out of browser" version. Which is also powered by Silverlight (good news for Mac fans). All three versions look and feel exactly the same. As of right now, only the desktop client has Facebook integration, which will make its way to the other platforms sometime soon.
