The Nokia E75 is expected to prolong the success of its predecessor, at which the Nokia messaging feature is very likely to help

The E71 is consideredNokia’s most recent hit. With this handset, Nokia was able to hold the consumer’s attention in this strongly competitive market. The times of the traditional phone manufacturer and the success that undoubtedly came with it, are definitely a thing of the past. Electronic giants such as Samsung and HTC, as well as LG, demand their market share. The Nokia E75 is expected to prolong the success of its predecessor, at which the Nokia messaging feature is very likely to help. • Read the full Nokia E75 review at LetsGoMobile.

Nokia E75 smartphone review - Digital camera feature
LetsGoMobile adds: “The Nokia E75 is a versatile multimedia cell phone, obviously also including a built-in digital camera. The Nokia E75 features a CMOS sensor with 3.2 Megapixels onboard. The first reaction to this amount is usual one of disappointment. Why ‘only’ 3.2 Megapixels, while at the same time competitors speak of 8 and are even hinting at 12 Megapixels? The amount as from 3 Megapixels is totally unimportant for a mobile phone. The quality of the pixels, the image sensor itself, the algorithms and the image processor are far more important. The continuously growing pixel amount, something which is now also occurring in mobile photography, has already been taking place in digital photography for the past few years. It’s simply a repetition of marketing strategy with the single goal to push sales numbers.”

Nokia smartphone test - GPS receiver
LetsGoMobile continues: “These days navigation is a must. And we seem to be only at the beginning of this function. A lot of electronics are better localized by GPS, and of course a mobile phone is the device for mobile navigation. Maps 2.0 is standard included with the Nokia E75 mobile phone. A fine addition for the built-in GPS receiver to be able to navigate to certain addresses or to find locations. Maps 2.0 features a wealth of convenient items. For example; satellite maps, route information, an improved pedestrian navigation and even up-to-date traffic information.”

Smartphone test : Nokia E75
The Nokia E75 is Nokia’s first mobile phone that includes Nokia messaging. Making calls is clearly no longer the core task of a handset. The consumer not only wants to be able to make calls, but also wants to manage his daily workload on location, receive and send emails and stay informed at all times through mobile Internet. With the introduction of the fourth generation E-series mobile phones, and motivated by competitors like HTC and Sony Ericsson, Nokia brings the consumer a highly interesting device. Read the full Nokia E75 test at LetsGoMobile to get to know all about this mobile phone.

. It seems that less and less people are using the built in IE browser and are switching to better browsers, namely Firefox, Google’s Chrome, and the surprise of the group, Apple’s Safari.

After surviving US and European Antitrust lawsuits for bundling their Internet Explorer browser with Windows, Microsoft is finally feeling the hit from a group they never expected — the consumer. It seems that less and less people are using the built in IE browser and are switching to better browsers, namely Firefox, Google’s Chrome, and the surprise of the group, Apple’s Safari. The news comes just weeks before the release of IE 8, which is receiving good reviews from testers.

A recent report from Net Applications, a web metrics firm that monitors thousands of sites worldwide, has IE’s market share at 67.55 percent, far below the 90 plus percent days at the height of Windows 98. Not surprisingly, Firefox is second at 21.53 percent. Apple’s Safari, which has grown 1.5 percent over the past 90 days, a huge growth, weighs in with 8.29 percent of users, and Google’s Chrome claims a mere 1.2 percent market share.

That leaves about 1.5 percent that encompasses device-specific browsers like Blackberries, Opera, and even the PlayStation version. The news helps Microsoft in its latest legal battle with the EU, which is still trying to get IE split from Windows. My guess is Steve Ballmer isn’t going to see that as the silver lining. Still, it is nice to see that even in an environment that almost became a monopoly that products and services will outweigh corporate might, even if it takes a few years.

Samsung has delivered an interim new model, when all the other brands are comparatively dormant. This LCD TV is from their high end acclaimed range called the 6 Series, though price-wise it’s a bit lower, thus more accessible. The model is the Samsung LA40A610 - different from the older A650 models. Let’s find out what’s different in this model.

Design and features
This family of TVs by Samsung has already made its mark with the touch of color feature for the bezel. This feature involves a process using injection molding, which is what they call Crystal Design now. They insert a streak of lovely red hue in the black bezel, all around the panel. I’m not one for gimmicks, but this is not just a stunt to impress superficially. It makes a big difference in the aesthetic scheme of the TV. The surface is piano gloss finished, and slightly curved at the top panel. There are no sharp edges, loud illustrations or anything of the sort. The stand is similarly clad in black, and is a perfect oval, giving good support to the frame. The red is only visible in yellow light, and slightly lower lit ambience. Straight up white tube light is no good.

The newer the TV, the more the features, so allow me to enumerate what is offered in this model. There is Samsung’s proprietary DNIe engine that enhances images by some magic with DSP. It is accessible from the menu and we can optimize color and other aspects of the image. Samsung TVs always have a very intuitive menu system, and this shouldn’t be any different. The contrast ratio is 40000:1 dynamic, which is again on the ‘ridiculously stated’ category. Response time is rated as 5 ms. The panel is 40 inches, made of 1920 x 1080 pixels, thus making this a full HD. 1080p/24p playback is stated in bold on the site and manual.

After introducing the world to its cheap, dinky-looking, plasticshelled netbooks, Asus is turning its own game upside down with the EeePC S101. The latest variant in the never-ending Eee series comes in a new fashion-conscious design. This svelte device is less than an inch thick and has a sparkly metallic finish (brown, champagne or graphite) with a chrome trim and recessed status indicators. The hinge barrel is studded with crystals and even the keyboard has a glittery finish.

The S101 runs on the now-ubiquitous 1.6 GHz Intel Atom CPU and 945GSE integrated graphics chipset with 1 GB of RAM. You’ll find a VGA webcam, three USB ports, a D-sub video output, and headphone/mic sockets along with 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 for communications.

The most unique feature is Hybrid Storage: the device has a 16 GB solid-state drive and a 16 GB SDHC card is included in the package. In addition, Asus offers 30 GB of online “Eee Storage” which you can access through a desktop application or website. The solution is workable, but the S101 has only one card reader slot. If users are expected to leave the SD card in at all times, a second slot would have been handy. The online Eee Storage application gives you access to some useless wallpapers and audio/video clip downloads, but there are also some very useful free utilities and a full set of drivers, just in case you ever need them.

The screen measures 10.2 inches diagonally and is quite usable at its native resolution of 1024×600. For some reason though, the Windows icon size and spacing were set way too high by default, wasting screen space and giving the impression that the resolution was much lower. After a few tweaks, work became a lot more comfortable.

The rest of the package includes a suede-finish sleeve, a surprisingly small charger, a screen cleaning cloth, a manual, a driver CD, and a mini optical mouse with its own pouch.
