[resolved] Message Log 'Frozen'?

I somehow screwed up my Miranda-IM for a specific contact - after any IM I send or Receive, a segment of text is saved.

That's what it looks like. Notice the timestamps. If I send "hi", the "AM" timestamped messages appear immediately.

EDIT: Deleted the items from my history, fixed the problem. Still strange!

I want to change miranda's system tray icon but dont think it can be done through the icon menu in the settings, so I tried using Res Hack to mess with the exe but no luck...Can anyone help out?

[resolved] Profile always seems to be in use

Hi,

I've upgraded to v0.8.1 and I seem to have some profile problems. When I (re-)install Miranda and launch it from the installer, it works. But if I close it and try to restart, it says that the "miranda was unable to open 'profile.dat' It's inaccessible or used by other application or Miranda instance" I've perused the forums and I've tried a few things:
* I've made sure that there are no instances of Miranda IM processes running. I've even had a reboot in there to confirm.
* I've run the Database Tool to make sure that my profile is not corrupt.
* I've confirmed that the accounts have the same name as from v.7.
* I've upgraded all of my plugins -- though maybe I've missed one.
* So to get Miranda to work, I have to reinstall it each time. I'm also wondering if it doesn't install properly as I get a message that comes up... after I close Miranda. It's Vista, so all sorts of bad things happen...

Anyway, my version info is below. If there is a post I've missed or some idea I can try, both would be welcome.

Issue: Implementation of Jabber protocol

Miranda 0.8.1 stops receiving jabber messages, if remote client does not send complete informations about itself. Problem occurs when jabber message is sent from Miranda to such client.

For example, if remote client sends this response, where tag is empty:

Some Name

Some OS

Miranda version 0.7 has not this issue.

I can setup the font and the font entry is correct in the fontservice settings, but the background color button is disabled. What's wrong?
I have tried the following backgroundNames too:
"Background" and "Selection text frame", no luck.

hello guys,

im using the irc plugin with tabsrmm and it works fine for me.
i noticed that there is a button at the chat window to write with
a different color. well it works fine but i have to click this button always
again if i want to write something new.

is there any way that this button keeps checked until i click it again?

IRC Indent problem

Hi, I am a little new to IRC.
I cannot acces several server using Miranda IM, notability Undernet. I do not have such problem with other clients.

When I set use server window/show server window on start-up, the windows appears randomly and when it does, I sometimes have a message like this one

There must be some Advanced setting to enter, but I don't know which one. Can somebody assist me, I find it convenient to have one single client and Miranda IM has many cool plug-in.

NB annex question: what is the difference, on IRC chat windows, when I right click a contact and select "Send Message" or "Start DCC"? Both actions open a new separate chat window and a new contact in my contact list. Thanks

Disabling certain account`s login during startup?

Hello, i don't have some problems of loosing protocols.
My case is that: My list of contacts now is very large, because a lot of contacts that i have delete/hide of my msn with original msn come back and a lot their as appears like online person, but isn't. And some emails that i have in my hotmail account (same of msn) and that is not a msn account, i only saved to send emails in hotmail page appears in same kind. the 8.0 happens the same.

Sorry for my bad english, that is not my mother language.

Issue with status change

Since I have updated miranda to the latest version something went wrong with my icq status change. Whenever I try changing it to something other than away or online, I still appear as away and other users can't read my away message. I tried deleting and reinstalling add-ons that might be connected to this issue, but it didn't work. Addons that I have installed include keepstatus, newawaysys, newawaysysw, and startupstatus.

Help, please?

native offline contacts on/off toggle

I use the most minimal Miranda GUI settings possible: no menubar, no titlebar, hidden offline contacts.

A problem: when few are online and I want to send a message to an offline contact I need to right click in an empty area in the miranda window and activate "show offline contacts" (or something like that).

But given the minimal setting there is no such empty area to rightclick! If I rightclick on the name or icon of an active contact then I get the context menu that does NOT contain the "show offline contacts" option.

So please add either of these to the main Miranda build:

1. add "show offline contacts" option to that other menu

2. add "show offline contacts" as a hotkey action for users to customize

3. provide some other way to activate/deactivate "show offline contacts" through an external script (command line, windows messages etc). Or if that is already possible then please give me some pointers.

(Yes, I know that there are some hotkey plugins that might handle this but they seem to be either closed source or outdated. I'd prefer not to use them for those reasons. BTW, if the miranda Addons section was trimmed of old/outdated plugins and if it was made more clear in what cases the plugins there have been much verified (in source and in functionality) by Miranda core devs then I'd feel better about installing this or that plugin.)

Error in status/status message display

Whenever a status change, or a status message change occurs on miranda, whether its being shown on a popup, or history log, or a convo window, it appears as :

'ABC changed his/her status to %new%'
or
'ABC changed his/her status message to %new%'.

Is there any way that I can fix this so it displays the actual new status or the new message instead of displaying '%new%' all the time (in my history, popup, and convo)?
