Featuring an incredibly intuitive control method adapted specifically for the iPhone and iTouch, International Athletics gives you the chance to go for gold in 11 of the world’s most compelling and demanding track and field events. Set within magnificent international stadiums and playable in Quick Event, Tournament Mode, and perhaps the most intense test of human strength and endurance of all, the Decathlon, International Athletics really has it all.

There are 11 events 100m, Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump, 400m, 110m Hurdles, Discus, Pole Vault, Javelin, 1500m, and Hammer.  The controls themselves take a bit to get used to, however once you master it you can’t even remember why you had any issues to begin with.

My favorite event so far is hammer throw but i’m getting better at the running events as well.

All in all this is a great game and well worth checking out for the iphone or ipod touch.

After receiving the box in the mail it took only a matter of a few minutes, following the 5 point instructions, and I was ready to start using the remote.  The major drawback at this point is syncing it with your current remote control because of a lack of input codes.  However, this is only a beta test inconvenience because I believe in the live version they will have this sorted out.

I inputted all the important keys from my two main remotes (tv and cable) and began testing.  I created a layout and was able to perform all the key functions of my remote controls with my iphone!

Overall, even in beta this app is really slick.  After a few upgrades I can see this being the number one app for the iphone.

The most distinctive feature of the “GPS Photorino” is converting the longitude and latitude coordinates data searched by the iPhone into user friendly names and display them on the digital photo frame. In addition, the application shows up date & time automatically and allows a user to insert personalized notes on the photo frames. After importing such photos to a computer, the user will be able to easily upload their blogs and social networking sites. There will be no need to add additional notes whenever uploading a photo, and viewers can easily recognize when and where the photos are taken.

After playing around with this app for a bit the GPS is pretty close but not perfect, but this doesn’t mean the app is not fun.  If you’re a fan of the Polaroid look of pictures this app is perfect just for that.  The GPS feature that adds location information directly to the photo is a fun bonus.

The basic of the app is that you start with one of many default characters and by sliding your finger at different parts of their body you can change swap that body part for one of another character.   This will create, in most cases, hilarious combinations.  For example a farmer with a tutu or an astronaut with a cowboy hat etc…

I’d like to see a few version but I guess there wouldn’t be much difference between that and the .99 copy they have now.

Honestly I have no idea why they choose a “space” theme for this app, but hey whatever works for you I guess.  However, the core features of this application are really helpful if you play the lottery in any US state.

Apple’s tight control over international distribution channels and corresponding scarcity of the iPhone in markets where it has not been formally released has somewhat ironically been the main driving force behind its popularity in China. This scarcity, combined with the iPhone’s status symbol appeal in China has resulted in consumers being willing to spend a much larger proportion of their income on purchasing the iPhone. The iPhone has commanded up to 5000RMB, or $730US on the black market in Beijing. Taking GDP per capita into consideration, this would be the equivalent of paying $5700US for an iPhone in the United States.

In Zhongguancun, often referred to as the Silicon Valley of Beijing, the iPhone has spawned countless fledgling businesses and enterprises geared solely towards satisfying the insatiable demand of the urban populace for the iPhone. Local iPhone suppliers have had to be creative and fleet of foot in order to stay afloat with windows of opportunities for channels of supply usually being very short lived.

Since its release in mid 2007, the iPhone has been smuggled into China from Hong Kong, through mail order from the United States using US residential addresses, or direct from New Zealand, where for a limited time iPhones were available in unlimited quantities (subject to availability).

As these channels have been exploited and supplies have run out or curtailed by Apple, businesses would often collapse only to rise from the ashes upon the discovery of fresh, untapped (and uncontrolled) sources.

Successfully sourcing and “importing” the iPhone into China is however only the first hurdle aspiring business owners hoping to jump on the iPhone bandwagon have had to surpass. iPhones sourced internationally more often than not need to be unlocked in order to be used on the local networks.

Chinese resourcefulness has really come into its own in this regard with specifically designed SIM card “jackets” that enable the iPhone to be used in China. Far from perfect, these one-stop solutions are often flawed causing the iPhone to freeze or stop functioning as it should. New releases of the iPhone with improved security controls have required further creativity and development on this front.

Apple is said to be in negotiations with China Unicom and China Mobile for distribution deals, with a formal release date anticipated before the end of the year. China Unicom appears to be the leading contender as its WCDMA network would require minimal modification to the iPhone. With less than half the number of subscribers compared to China Mobile, it is unlikely that China Unicom will be able to successfully negotiate a sole distribution arrangement.

Authorities have turned a blind eye to the local iPhone business to date, however it is likely that a formalized agreement between Apple and a large established Chinese company would have significant legal implications for local suppliers choosing to continue in this business.

Regardless of the details of the inevitable distribution deal, the iPhone will be a huge success for Apple in China. The booming black market trade that has been built up around the iPhone will likely collapse as widespread availability would remove the scarcity factor, forcing local sellers to start looking for opportunities elsewhere.

In order to get the full effect you’ll need to down the app and try it for yourself.  They allow you to select one of two dogs or two cats that will lick you screen clean and leave a bit of slober behind.
