VJMusic:
V.J is an Electronic musician based in Fremont, CA. He started working with his software of choice, FL Studio, about four years ago. He initially remixed tunes from his favorite video games until he decided to work on original music. His style of Electronic music is very loose, and focuses primarily on driving beats and pulsing bass-lines. V.J's main goal is to create abstract music that is somewhat unique around his community and voice out his creativity to people around the world.

mattjavanshir:
Hi! My name’s Matt Javanshir; i’m a music composer, video games enthusiast and general all-round-awesome-guy based in London, UK.

About Me:
I’ve been playing the piano for just about as long as I can remember. Throughout my life I’ve mainly played classical music, mixed with some baroque and romantic. As well as the Piano I also play the Alto Saxophone. In recent years, after studying music technology in college I’ve been composing, sequencing, arranging and mixing my own works. They’ve been used in a variety of areas; such as home brew RPG video game projects, my friend’s university projects and general self initiated projects. Being an avid gamer, the pieces are very much influenced by video games music. More recently a selection of my music was featured in the wiiware/iPhone game Squibs Arcade.

Skills:
I don’t particularly believe that more qualifications make you a better musician, however I have taken a number of grade exams for piano and sax. I’ve since become proficient in various software packages:
- Grade 8 Piano (ABRSM)
- Grade 4 Saxophone (ABRSM)
- A-Level Music Technology
- Competent with Cubase
- Competent with EastWest VSTs
- Competent with Anvil Studio

Contact:
Feel free to visit my site or email me if you have any questions, comments or suggestions.
DaveKilbank

DaveKilbank:
Dave belted out his first note on June 15, 1954 in Fort William, Ontario. He was raised by a completely unmusical family who moved around a lot, and then got into the radio business which continued his transient lifestyle - that is, until he arrived on The Wet Coast. In Nanaimo, he discovered a very creative community, so he settled in, dabbled in theatre, and did some writing. Eventually, he got tired of producing radio advertising, so now he's left that behind to concentrate on his music, and has never been happier.

DeathNougat

DeathNougat:
My name is Bill, not Death Nougat.

This is a collection of loop experiments using GarageBand.
These experiments - not meant to be songs - are purposely of short time span. A complete list of experiments is here.

My current favorite Death Nougat tracks include
Bone Grinder - in-your-face mix of punk and classical.
Honey, I Found Your Sister - early punk-jazz, using, among other things, a didgeridoo soundfont.
Bucket of Love - an otherworldly mix of light and dark.
Onitsha - funky distorted piano and death ray effects.
This is Hardcore - truckload of attitude.
Suffusion Rules - enormously entertaining modulated bells.

I also have a music project named Mungo. These are identified as collabs with Mungo because it's a way of getting Death Nougat tracks posted as episodes in the Mungo podcast.

Some Death Nougat blog entries are acerbic and/or satirical; some are not.

macoco

macoco:
I write children books, I also work in advertising and I make stage scenes.

I have not played music for twenty years, but since I joined iCompositions I've bought 3 new basses, a new guitar, a new Mac and lots of new software; and I have used all my old gear I thought I would never use it again. I do not play music for a living: it is just for fun.
This is a great place to be, and it certainly changed the way I listen, play and make new music.
I have also discovered some new great friends in here.
Welcome to my music. And let me know about yours (if you can, please, post the lyrics, because I don't understand spoken nor sung english, but I still can read).

3rdworldish gear:
• Washburn Taurus T25 5-strings bass, Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass Fretless, Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass 70's model, Ibanez AF95 hollowbody electric guitar, Casio PG-300 strato electric guitar, Yamaha APX-II acoustic guitar, Fernandez classic guitar
• Roland JV-80 keyboard, Behringer UMX49 keyboard controller
• E-mu Morpheus sound module, E-mu Procussion drums module, Yamaha TG33 sound module
• Lexicon LX-P5 1/2rack FX, Boss SE-50 1/2rack FX
And some others sound modules I don't use anymore, a 16 channel Akai mixer, a Fostex X-28,a Soundtech Q150 EQ, a pair of JBL Control 8, and a MOTU Midi Time Piece II (which I use under System 9).

Current Mac: iMac 24". Other Macs: PowerBook G3 Wallstreet, PowerBook 502C and my old beloved Classic Color II (yes, the one with the Sony Trinitron tube).
Software: GarageBand 3, Logic Express 7, Intuem (handy for simple MIDI task), Performer 6 under System 9

I'm proud of the collabs in the Collabs list: each one of them brings me to a specific moment of pleasure in the making.

I like to spend some time in the iC Chat: it makes me feel I'm part of something.

This is what music is all about: http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=117093

And this is me: http://www.icompositions.com/music/podcasts/show.php?sid=1
I like getting intimate with the musical notes...i have a kinship for harmony and have jokingly given those voices a 'group' name, the Hooligans.. Hence, I'm Little Hooligan

geofflapptrio:
Geoff Lapp

Born in Montreal in 1953, Geoff Lapp was trained in the classical tradition and studied at McGill University under widely respected jazz pianist Art Maiste. During the early years of his career, he gained experience in the pop music world touring with the likes of Michel Pagliaro. From the early '80s onwards, he devoted himself fully to the jazz idiom. As one of Canada’s most accomplished pianists/composers, Geoff Lapp became a sought-after accompanist for a host of top Canadian performers.

In addition to his own trio work, Geoff has performed and/or recorded with renowned jazzmen such as Paquito d’Rivera, Don Menza, Richie Cole, Bob Mover, Sonny Fortune, and Slide Hampton, among others. He has also performed extensively in festivals and clubs worldwide. At home in Quebec, he is a mainstay on the vibrant jazz scene, and has performed with a panoply of local luminaries: Michel Donato, Jeri Brown, Peter Leitch, Ranee Lee, Denzil Sinclair, John Labelle, Charlie Biddle, Charles Ellison and the Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir.
jett22251:
ABOUT ME:

My name is Jeff. I am a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force, and I am currently stationed at Columbus AFB, MS doing pilot training. I have many hobbies (too many) and one of them, perhaps one of the most important, is music.

MUSIC:

Death Metal, Neo Classical Technical Death Metal, Grind, Progressive Metal, Melodic Death Metal

EXPERIENCE:

4 years. Been playing pretty consistently (as time permits, I am very busy lately)

GOALS:

I like to make brutal music. Every song I play is physically and mentally challenging, and I try to improve my skills and expand my ideas with every track. I chose one of the most demanding genres and I know I have a long way to go.

Hey everyone!! My name is Ian. I've been playing sax and piano for a while now. Been raised on Charlie Parker and The Rippingtons mostly, but I love all types of music. I play because it is the only thing in my life that I feel 100% at peace about. Sometimes I spend hours playing. I am working on getting in the studio a little more and putting out my first Christmas album. Always a dream of mine. I appreciate your feedback and hope you all have a wonderful day.
macsnob:
50 something in fly-over country. With the exception of a Radio Shack TRS-80 I have been on a Mac all of my computer life. Bought my first, a Mac II, in October of 1988. 2 MB of RAM, 40 MB HD, 16 MHz processor and a 13" color monitor.18 years and 5 Macs later I am on a new 20" intel iMac. I will now have to test out the new iLife apps.I played guitar for two years when I was 8 years old and have forgotten everything. My teacher was my grandfather. He was a wonderful musician that could play anything with strings. He was in several Big Bands that traveled throughout the Mid-West. He played with Laurence Welk for several years before he had his TV show. He filled in on Bass for Bill Haley and the Comets one night. He was quite a guy. He also invented what is now known as the Steel Guitar. His was the Organ~tar. I still have it. You can see and read about it here.So I do have some music in my blood. For now I have limited myself to using loops but I am thinking about getting the M-Audio Keystation 49e keyboard.I hope you like my comps. Give them a listen and please leave comments. Thanks, macsnob

Hey everyone! The name's Ben Yee-Paulson.

I've been composing classical music since I was in 6th grade and have gone a long way. At first, I wasn't so into composition and music. I thought that I would compose just as a hobby. But when I entered my very first song into a contest, it came out to be a finalist out of many hundreds of composer. Thus, I have developed a strong passion for music and continue to compose more songs. Since then, I have entered numerous contests and festivals and have been a finalist in more than 5 of them.

I've also been doing piano since I was 5 (I'm 15), been studying music theory for 6 years, been in various quartets and orchestra, and in a choir at Brookline High. I plan to career in music and/or math when I grow up, and tryout for various A Chapellas and Choirs.

Please comment on my songs! I appericate all the feedback!
DjDetski:
My name's Ivan Eastley, I'm 18 years old, and I have been composing since 2004 when we first got the Mac. I use Reason now for pretty much all of my music (Some exceptions). Garageband has always been faithful to me (Right from when I first joined iComp), since it is so simple and easy to use. Now however, i think it is time to move on since my interests in making different kinds of music has become more refined.

I've done loads of different styles of music, but my favourite I think is making House music. Electro-House, Funky-House, Tech-House, Minimal-House, you name it! Trance is also a lot of fun to make, since the melodies and synths come out sounding so nice!

I used to use loops all the time, but now I prefer to make my own synths/beats/textures e.t.c. However, I'm always looking for new and unique samples to use in my music - if you feel you have any I could use, I would greatly appreciate it!

The album art I've always used is a little doodle I did a while ago. I put it through a few effects in Photoshop, and it came out looking like this:

Please feel free to message me if you would like to find out more about me, or anything else.

If you want my advice on which songs are (in my opinion) my best, I can name:

-El Ef Oh
-Accidental Exodus
-Sawdust
-Dub Magic
-Handful of Sand
-Heard No Evil
-Smile Protocol
-Resolution By Convolution
-Blu Hard Hat
-Would I Lie To You?
-Tripwise
-And You Don't Even Know
-Anti-Bacterial
-Run Boy, Run!
-Tribal Exploration
-Skidpan
-Next Level
-Wicked Hop
My name is Michael, I'm a German university teacher living in Brazil. I like any sort of good music, from Post and ProgRock to World, Folk, Jazz and Classic.
I'm not a professional musician, but playing classical guitar in my free time, which I learnt in my youth by formal instruction. Back then, I was joining a local band in the south-west of Germany playing mostly folk and some rock.
Several years ago, I descovered GarageBand almost by accident and got fascinated by the idea to create my own music.

bodanegra:
Get in touch with music-instruments in the 1980s. First of all I started playing drums in 1990. Started making music in 1992 in a band called FAROUT. We did some kind of rock music with influences of punk, ska, popmusic and alternative rock and pop music. I played drums in this band for about 7-8 years. Other bands followed while I´ve learned to play guitar.
A little while later I discovered making music with my computer. My favorite programs are Reason from propellerhead and Steinberg Cubase to make mixdowns.

I like many genres like gothic, punk, rock, ska, spanish guitar/gipsy, latino, classics and new age.

My own sound is allways different and alternates. It`s depending on the mood I am in...

Been struggling my whole life to find ways to get by and become a success and I have found that hip hop music production was my gateway to greatness. Hip-hop is me.
ageisbell:
-----------------------------------------------
...WELCOME TO UNFAMILIAR TERRITORY...
-----------------------------------------------

Here you will find the musical musing of Age Isbell. These sounds may lead you to a strange new world...a world that, at times, may feel comfortable, warm, secure, and somehow oddly familiar - but tread lightly my good friends, because only moments later it can easily become undeniably disturbing and quickly spiral downward into an unpredictable, unsettling, and all consuming chaos. You are now free to move about the cabin...
-------------------------------------------------------------
...A SIMPLE GOAL...

Experimentation without complete and utter annihilation. Constantly ensuring oneself that, at all times, one hand is warding off the imminent unraveling of this melodic web...prevention, protection, and the perseverance of this "one true thing" that, somehow or another, manages to keep this frail and fragile world I call home in one piece.

I will continuously strive to blur the line between different styles and genres...hopefully succeeding in keeping you, the listener, on your toes and forever guessing just what might be waiting for you around the next corner. I may not always be successful in doing so, but in any case, I truly hope that these musical musings of mine will please something within you.

I thank you for taking the time to read, listen, and open your mind to the creations you find before you. Each and every one of you are welcome and appreciated here...now strap in and prepare for the ride...........

Sincerely,
Age
