I almost thought this wasn’t true, but Kawasaki has released information that they have filed a preliminary patent on the device that will allow motorcycle helmets to have infrared night vision assistance!  Have you ever driven at night and that little beam of light emitting from that beast of a machine you call your motorcycles is barely enough to see a few hundred feet in front of you?  Well, worry no more!  Soon you could be the king of Night Riding and ride like this:

Just imagine!  Not more I wonder if that dark black mass is is a broken tire or not?  I wonder if that is a parked police cruiser with his lights off.  With the infrared night vision helmet you not only will know, but you will be able to see up to 300 feet more in front of you!  That extra boost at night can be a life saver!  Kudos to Kawasaki for bringing it to fruition.  Now I will be able to see stuff like this too:

Hello,

The economy is still in the crapper, but there are still ways you can save money.  How about to the tune of 61Mpg?  How about for a quarter the cost of a low end car?  How about to do it in style?  Yes, style!  And by that I mean the awesome 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250R.

2009 Black Kawasaki Ninja 250 R

This bike costs just under $4k!  Yes, with that you too can look good.   You can get a good bike at a crazy cheap cost and look good too.  The ONLY downside with the 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250R is that it is small.  You get about 30Hp.  It is a far cry from the Ducat 848’s 130+ horsepower, but so is the cost;)  So if you want to save money in 2009 and buy a bike I’d strongly recommend you take a look at the 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250R.

Green 2009 Kawasaki ER-6F

Good Morning,  MCN has completed a video testdrive of the 2009 Kawasaki ER-6F motorcycle.

The 2009 Kawasaki ER-6F is a, “naked” bike available in the UK.  Note, it is NOT available in the USA.  The USA version is called the ER-6N.  Similar, but different none the less.

Here we have a 2009 Ducati 848

We will compare the horse power, price, weight and power to weight ratio of the two bikes and compare which of the two is the better bike.  The 2009 Ducati 848 has 134hp.  It weighs in at 369lbs.  The MSRP for a 2009 Ducati 848 is $13,995.  This gives us a power to weight ratio of 134/369 = .3631.   The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R produces 83.2 lb-ft @ 8,700 rpm.  Converting torque to horse power ((Torque x Engine speed) / 5,252 = Horsepower) we get 137.82hp for the 2009 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R.  The 2009 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R weighs 458.6lbs.   The MSRP for the 2009 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is $11,799.   The power to weight ratio for a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is 137.82/458.6 = .3005.  So as you can see the 2009 Ducati 848 with a smaller engine out performs the larger 2009 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R.  For those of you who say an 848cc engine vs a 999cc engine is unfair consider this, the Ducati 1098 weighs only 11lbs more!

Now let’s compare power to price.  The 2009 Ducati 848 power to price ratio is $13,999/134hp = $104 per hp.  The 2009 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is $11799,/ 137.82hp = $85.  So clearly the bang for your buck is in the 2009 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R.  Which bike should you buy, that’s up to you:)
