Mark Your Calendars to Attend the Fuller Woman Expo

During my trip to New York I had the pleasure of meeting Cassandra Jones-Mcbride and learning a bit more about the Fuller Woman Expo.  I was not sure before but I know now that I will be in Detroit to attend the Expo.

History will be made when The Fuller Woman Network (TFW) travels to Detroit, MI for their first ever Fuller Woman Expo in the United States. Scheduled to take place on September 19, 2009, the Fuller Woman Expo is an empowering event embracing women for who they are and uplifting them with a positive approach. This year the Fuller Woman Expo is being held at COBO Hall and Exhibition Center from 10am-5pm.

Following the tremendous success of the first ever plus size woman consumer trade show in Canada, Georgia Greenwood of Toronto met Cassandra Jones-McBryde, a like minded plus size model advocate based out of Detroit, MI. Through numerous conversations both women discovered their shared goals and set out to bring the impact felt in Canada, to women in the United States.

The 3^rd International Fuller Woman Expo will feature over 40 exhibits of the very best products and services including items pertaining to fashion, beauty, health, fitness, home, career, financial planning, education and much more. Attendees will also enjoy a full schedule of speakers, book signings, live musical performances, celebrity appearances, and cooking and design demonstrations.

Immediately following the Expo the Fuller Woman Network will present “Full Of Fashion”, a fashion showcase featuring lovely models, from TFW Network, walking the runway with confidence and poise in some of the industry’s top clothing lines and designers.

By bringing this trailblazing event to the United States, The Fuller Woman Network intends to change the way people regard size. Social Media for Plus Sizes

Have you ever wanted to connect to others in the plus size community on Twitter?  I have been lucky to find quite a few individuals via this growing social media outlet.  Today on Twitter is the day that user recommend other users  it is called #followfriday.  An example of some of the people I have been introduced to via follow friday.   @plussizefromC @BellaFierce @fullsizebarbie @CassyJ @TheCurvySpot @phyaflyjones @fatandfabchic @philli @plusmodelrocky.

The great thing about these individuals and the others that I have followed and follow me on my page @GlenL is that each page represents an individual voice and point of view in the curvy community.  A surprise development is how businesses have leveraged Twitter to reach directly to their customers.  For those of us that have a deep hatred for outsourced customer service this is a blessing.

The best part about follow friday on Twitter is being introduced to new followers all the time.  Their has not been a week to go by that I have not met someone new which leads to me finding a new website or blog to bookmark and add to my ever growing list of newsfeeds.

I know there are still many people out there that still don’t see the point of social networking, but if you are trying to expand your personal brand or business going to were the customers are can be a very valuable tool.  I have enjoyed meeting all of the diverse individuals and learning things that I may or may not have learned if not for social networking.

My wife relished in the box of bras that she just ordered from Lane Bryant.  I am not sure if she knows about the new styles offered in the LB Cacique department but I am sure that she will want add one of each to her collection.

Each of these new bras is available under the buy one get one half off.  Not a bad deal overall.  Each bra comes in colors like Sea Fog, Latte, and Royal Burgundy.  The only drawback to the new embellished bras is the cut off size is 46DDD.  Not long ago my wife rejoiced in being able to purchase size 42H from Lane Bryant.  It seems that they are slipping into their older ways of carrying larger band sizes but limited cup ranges.  I have contacted LB on Twitter about some of my concerns which I hope will be taken into consideration.  Regardless check out the new bras at Lane Bryant as well as the new arrivals and Online Exclusives which include swimwear, kaftans, and lingerie.
