Women Ski Jumpers Lose Olympic Lawsuit

Vancouver, Canada - British Columbia Supreme Court Justice Lauri Ann Fenlon on Friday denied the 15 women ski jumpers suing the Vancouver Organizing Committee (VANOC) the declaration they sought for inclusion in the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver/Whistler, but found that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) practiced gender discrimination by refusing to allow women's ski jumping at the games.

Rey Center Tecumseh Overnights. Tecumseh Overnights is an environmental education program that guides small groups up Mount Tecumseh to investigate mountain ecology and climate, and to star-gaze. Three overnights are planned this summer for this Saturday, August 15 and August 29.

Washington, DC - Scientists with the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) on Thursday announced the arrival of El Ni�o, a climate phenomenon with a significant influence on global weather, ocean conditions, marine fisheries and seasonal precipitation. El Ni�o, the periodic warming of central and eastern tropical Pacific waters, occurs on average every two to five years and typically lasts about 12 months, and is expected to persist through the 2009-10 ski and snowboard season.
