We loved having you and LOVED the interactivity you were able to provide for us!

And I can take no credit on the thank you package; that was the lovely ladies in Colby, KS, Diana Wieland and Teresa Morgan (TeresaTCA).

Glad to have had you bring your Tennessee flavor to our stew!

Hi Clif. I'm joining this conversation a bit late, but wanted to share a few resources that help me grapple with the "what is effective technology integration?" question. Both are more theory-driven, so it may be a stretch to find specific examples in real educational settings. The first is the TPACK framework. I'm guessing you're familiar with it. Mishra and Koehler over at Michigan State view technology, pedagogy and content as being an inter-connected Venn diagram. In my opinion, this framework should be at the heart of any pre- and in-service discussions on technology integration. http://www.tpack.org/ is a great starting point for links to effectiveness, practical use and further reading.

A fellow Iowa edu-blogger is attempting to connect learning theories with technology as well. His well scripted and ongoing thoughts on technology-heavy PD are found here: http://bit.ly/addkR

None of these are my original thoughts, but thought they might add to your conversation. As always, keep up the great blogging.

Some terrific ideas in there. I am doing a version of #12 next year with Orwell's Animal Farm.
Never thought about doing the "unseen" portions- maybe I can figure out how to combine the ideas.
Hmm. Got me thinkin'.
Thanks for posting this.

Great stuff. I've actually used ArtSkills inexpensive poster supplies to make a poster project before. Thanks for the tip about their 'free supplies for teachers' program. I'll spread the word. I saw on their site, that kids can compete in a poster making contest and win free poster supplies too! ArtSkills seems fun and caring. That's a bit unusual these days.

Thanks again,

Thank you for sharing the presentation. This might be what pushes me over the edge and makes me buy the Flip Camera I have been dreaming of for months.

Does anyone have any advice for which Flip Camera to purchase?

Thank you,

I agree that the first video was not easy to understand; however, the second video did a better job of helping me actually understand more about Web 2.0. I wasn't quite sure what the difference was before, but now I have gained a better understanding.

These are great ways to integrate Google Earth into the classroom. I really liked all of the ways to implement literature and digital storytelling. The environmental river project and city planning were other great ones. This is a wonderful resource. Thank you!

This was very thought-provoking. As a math teacher, I feel that the only way I can produce mathematicians is to encourage creativity, not squash it, and since my undergraduate degree is in music, I use it in my classroom as much as possible. Any observer would be amazed seeing how my students think in my class where they can listen to music and move around the room. It's definitely not the same as how they think in other classes where they sit in rows for 55 minutes.

I really love this video. I am going to show it in my class to present why it's important to master math. I will probably show the other video also.
