Hey everyone sorry that I haven’t written in awhile. I have been really busy with camp. Everything here is going super and the weather is beautiful. I definitely miss my family but I am up here doing God’s work so that makes all the difference. We have gotten to do so many really neat things with the little campers. They are so excited when they get here on sundays. There are alot of activities for them to choose from. Well their counselor to choose from. I am the camp nurse and the week went really well. No major injuries or anything. We had one child bust his head but it didn’t require a stitch so that was good. Hope that all is well with everyone. I will write again soon. Take Care and God Bless.

Well tomorrow is the 10th of June and I am leaving to go on my mission trip. I have been packing and getting everything together all day today. Once I started stacking stuff by the door so I could get ready to load it in the truck, I didn’t realize that I had so much stuff. My parents say that I am not really roughing it. I keep trying to tell them that it is a christian camp not the dark wilderness. I was told to bring anything that I wanted. It is going to be a wonderful summer full of spiritual growth and fellowship of many different people. The experience is one that I am going to cherish forever I am sure of that. The people are really awesome and down to earth. I know that I am going to miss everyone here but I will be sharing the word of God with others and will be around lots of people so I am excited. I will have my laptop with me so I will still be able to write my blog and everything and accept emails. So please don’t hesistate to email me or something. Take Care and God Bless.

Well Summer time is officially here. The weather is getting warmer and everyone is breaking out the bathing suits and sunscreen. Families are planning vacations now that kids are out of school and able to attend. The favorite destinations of families is florida. Florida seems to be a hot spot because there is Disney World and Universal Studios and all kinds of other things. I remember as a child going on family vacations. Although sometimes are family vacations consisted of going to the motorcycle track and watching the races. My mom and biological father used to work the turns at the track. We got too meet some pretty cool stuff at the tracks. I think that when children are younger that family vacations should be something that should be done every summer that you can. It is important to have family time and to remember and to get back to what is important. Remember that your kids are only kids for a short while. Enjoy the time. Take Care and God Bless.

Around the world people are continuously relying on the power of medicine. We all want to make sure our loved ones are healthy, and refuse to believe that modern medcine could actually harm them. For years, modern medicine has ruled Western culture. It has become part of our customs as we continuously acquire medicine on a daily basis. From a simple dose of aspirin to more intense treatments like chemotherapy and daily medical visits, we cannot help but feel drawn to such assitance. After all, medicine has the ability to heal, fix, and alleviate problems that afflict billions of people each year. So why not jump on the bandwagon and hand over your life to modern medicine? It is a known fact that we live in a fast paced world where immediate results are craved. If we are sick, we want to have a prescription within hours and medicine to cure us in a day or so (although that would be really nice). Due to the fact that the safety od medicine has always been around for us, it becomes a common theme to rely on such safe treatments. Since we know that there are medicines out there, we want the situation to be alleviated as soon as possible. While there are those who are against modern medcine, it is clear that this type of medical treatments has come a long way. With hundrers of medicines dedicated to incurable illnesses, it is miracle for some. We now finally have the opportunity to feel better, and know that there are things being done to help the sick. But with oppurtunity, comes a bitter battle. Due to the fact that the media is one of the largest outlets for the worls, advertising has taken over modern medicine and has turned it into a dangerous spectacle. Although modern medicine is one of the largest industries in the world, it is not the only option. Herbal remedies and traditional medicine are also rising steadily, as it is more focused on herbs, safe nutrients and minerals that will not have hazardous effects on the body. With the ability to extract such benefits from plants, it is surprising that the majority of people do not want to stick to such safe routes. Unfortunately while herbal medicine can cure painful ailments, it may not be as effective for serious illnesses. Nevertheless, it is an alternative that people should seek out, if the illness is not life threatening. For many, it is more affordable, nicer to the body, and actually reduces the amount of side effects. In closing I would like to ask you how you feel about Modern Medicine vs. Alternative Medicine. I would definitely like to get some feedback. Hope to hear from everyone. Take Care and God Bless.

Well I am getting ready to embark oin a very spiritual and rewarding summer. I am going to be a Summer Youth Camp Counselor this summer. I am so excited about this oppurtunity. I must say though that at first I was very very nervous, this is my first time ever doing anything like this. I know that the Lord is going to guide me during my trip and that I have nothing to worry about. I know that as soon as I am there I am going to be at peace and that the words that I need with be upon me. I leave in about 11 days. As it gets closer and closer for me to leave I get more excited. I am however, a little said because I will be away from my family and my home church for two months. I will however take with me all the wisdom and spiritual values that they have instilled in me along for the trip. If I have any questions I can call them or email them. Everyone here at home and at church have been very supportive through everything. Wish me luck and pray everyday that I am gone. I will be able to blog and email while I am there. Hope to hear from everyone while I am gone. Take Care and God Bless.

We should celebrate life everyday. Life is a beautiful wonderful thing. I am thankful everyday for being alive and being able to experience every beauty that the Lord has provided. My family has recently suffered a great loss. My grandmother for whom I called “nanny” passed away on May 20th. She was an amazing woman. She had this way about her that was very captivating and lively. She spoke her mind about any and everything. She had a huge heart and you knew that she loved you no matter what. We I first heard of her passing I just bowed my head and prayed because I knew that the Lord was going to take care of her now and that she wasn’t in anymore pain. Instead of the family having a funeral for her they are going to have a Celebration of Life. They are going to celebrate the beautiful wonderful person she was. I am thankful to have had the oppurtunity to have someone like her in my life. Her life will be celebrated everyday through her family and friends. Life should be celebrated everyday. It is a gift from God and should be cherished. Tell the people that you love that you love them and don’t wait to do something that you want to do. Take care and God Bless.

Everyone in life is meant to do something . There is one special calling for each person. Some people are doctors others are preachers. Everyone has different talents and passions. When we were kids and growing up we had dreams of being a singer or a glamorous model. I have always knowned that I wanted to help people. There was never a question in my mind that I wanted to help others. I wanted to be in the medical field some how. After a couple of years I studied and got my license to be a pharmacy technician. Medicine fascinates me. It amazes me how one itty bitty little pill can do so much for someone. Some of the names of medications can be hard to pronounce and it took me a little while but eventually I got it. When I was diagnosed with MS in 2007 I was worried that it would interfere with my work and my ability to do things. I was wrong it didn’t. I mean there were times that I was in so much pain that I couldn’t stand but I eventually got everything and all the symptoms managed. I want to go to college this fall and study pharmacuetical research. I want to develop drugs for diseases and chronic illnesses like I have. I encourage everyone to follow your dreams never give up on what you want. Fear of failing is not an option. Keep your head up and smile. Take Care and God Bless.

I know that there are times when I might make them angry but we talk it out and everything ends up being ok in the end. There are alot of families and friend relationships and even work related relationships that can be very unhealthy and unsupportive relationships. I have had people in my life that were very negative and unsupportive and there came a time where I wasn’t going to allow anyone to be negative towards me and I told them that if they couldn’t be supportive and loving unconditionally and be positive that I didn’t want anything to do with them. Althought it was kind of hard to do that I knew that with those people around and wearing down on me that I wouldnt’t be the wonderful person that I am today. I am a very positive and loving person. My love to help people and make people laugh. Just remember that no matter who you are or what you decide to do with your life. Be positive and happy. Take care of your inner self and smile. Take Care and God Bless.

Today I wanted to write a list of famous people with MS. I know that my adminisrator(which happens to be my dad) mentioned awhile back that he was wondering about famous people with MS. I researched and came up with a pretty good list. MS can effect all types of people. In all economic classes and social classes. If you know of any that I don’t put on the list please by all means let me know. Here are a few that I have come up with: Jack Bertone- percussionist for Beach Boys, Neil Cavuto- lead anchor for Foxs News Channel, Clay Walker- country music artist, Montel Williams- talk show host/MS advocate, David Humm- NFL Quarterback for Oakland Raiders, Barbara Jordan- congress woman, Ernie McAlister- US Politician, Ken Novak- Basketball Coach, Alan Osmond- Singer, Sharon Sumerrall- Wife of Don Henley, Kelly Sutton- racing driver, Paul Wellstone- US Senator. Those are a couple of names that I found. If you know anymore please let me know. Take Care and God Bless.
