<p>There are other ways to promote your business. <strong>Use effective email marketing techniques</strong> like the following:</p>
<p><strong>* Ezine Advertising </strong><br />
- Ezine advertising is a very effective and an easy to use method. First, find an ezine to advertise with. An ezine that is related or complimentary to your site and products works the best. After you have found a promising ezine, subscribe to it to see the quality of the newsletter&#8217;s content. If you like the newsletter, then you probably aren&#8217;t alone. The higher the subscriber list the more attentive the reader base, that tells a lot about the ezine which is also the type of reader base that you want your ads to be sent too.</p>
<p><strong>* Newsletters </strong><br />
- If you already have a website up, you can ask visitors for their email addresses. Send them content filled tips of the week, or even fill them in on the latest deals on your products and/or services.<br />
(TIP! Please format your messages in a plain text program such as Notepad. Your lines should all be 65 characters or less with a hard return at the end of the lines. This will make sure that your message is all one block and easy to read. Many email programs will not display the word wrap correctly, leaving your lines ending in unforeseen places. You may even lose a subscriber if it looks unprofessional. Always proofread your newsletter content before sending it to your subscriber list.)</p>

<p><strong>Picture this:</strong> You spend hours writing an article that you KNOW will motivate people to tears/laughter/action. You send it to your e-mail list - a group of people who have specifically asked to hear from you - and no one opens the e-mail. The article ends up unread, deep in your subscribers’ in boxes. Your words aren’t digested, your ideas aren’t discussed, and your suggestions aren’t tested.</p>
<p>Frustrating, no?</p>
<p>It’s even more frustrating if you’re an Internet marketer and your revenue relies on people opening your e-mails, reading your articles or sales letters, and taking the actions you recommend.</p>
<p>In most (if not all) cases, you’ll never have a 100 percent open rate - where every last one of your subscribers opens your e-mail. In fact, according to e-mail marketing company Campaign Monitor, “If you are getting an open rate between 20 percent and 40 percent, you are probably somewhere around average.”</p>
<p>The thing is, the more people who open your e-mails, the more chances you have to make sales.</p>
<p>Let’s say 5 percent of your subscribers open your e-mails. Of that 5 percent, 10 percent buy the product you’re offering. If you have 1,000 subscribers, that means you’ll make $500 for every $100 product you sell via e-mail.</p>
<p>Even if your conversion rate (the number of people who buy what you’re selling) remains the same, you can DOUBLE the number of sales you make if you can double the number of people who open your e-mails. Today, I’m going to give you two simple ways to make that happen.</p>
<p>Here’s the heart of the matter: Whenever you send an e-mail message to your subscriber list or to your friends or colleagues, they ask themselves these two critical questions before taking action:</p>
<p><strong>1. </strong>WHO is this e-mail from?</p>
<p><strong>2. </strong>WHAT is this e-mail about?</p>
<p>Test this yourself the next time you’re about to open the e-mail messages in your in box. If you’re like most people I’ve surveyed, you ask yourself WHO? and WHAT? before grabbing your mouse, clicking, and reading each one.</p>
<p><strong>The WHO? Question</strong></p>
<p>Answering the WHO? question is easy, because it’s right there in the “from line.” I recommend that your from line never changes. Here’s what mine looks like:</p>

<p>Specifically, I put a tilde symbol (”~”), then a space, then my first name, then another space, then my last name, then another space, then a second tilde.</p>
<p>That’s it.</p>
<p><strong>Key Point: </strong>The reason I use the tilde in my from line is because it often puts my message at the top of my recipients’ list of new e-mails. Many e-mail programs sort alphabetically, and they give the tilde symbol an even higher alphabetical ranking than words starting with the letter “A” (like my name).</p>
<p><strong>The WHAT? Question</strong></p>
<p>Answering the WHAT? question is not so easy, because it depends on the way the “subject line” is written. Unlike your from line, it makes sense to constantly test your subject line copy until you find the winners.</p>
<p>I don’t make any claims with my subject line, because I feel the one and only job of that copy is to pique my recipients’ interest - so they open, read, and click the link in the body of the e-mail message.</p>
<p>The purpose of the from line is to motivate your recipients to read your subject line. The purpose of your subject line is to persuade your recipients to read the body copy of the e-mail.</p>
<p>It’s that simple.</p>
<p><strong>What to Do Now</strong></p>
<p>First, I want you to decide on what your from line will look like for all your e-mail communications. Once you make this decision, always keep your from line the same. Never change it.</p>
<p>I recommend using tildes or asterisks or dashes in your from line so you’ll get top alpha-numerical priority in your recipients’ in boxes. Here are a few examples:</p>
<p>* Jane Doe *</p>
<p>~ Jane Doe ~</p>
<p>- Jane Doe -</p>
<p>Second, I want you to become a student of effective subject line copy. So keep a file of subject lines that elicit your own curiosity. (Remember, that’s what you want your subject lines to do for your recipients.)</p>
<p>The subject lines that work best for me are brief (seven words or less). Here are some that have had good pulling power for me:</p>
<p>  <strong>  * </strong>This ONE is for you…<br />
    <strong>* </strong>Your presence is requested…<br />
    <strong>* </strong>Have you seen this?<br />
  <strong>  * </strong>Will you say “YES” to this?<br />
   <strong> * </strong>This is about our appointment…<br />
   <strong> * </strong>It’s not your fault…<br />
    <strong>* </strong>Who’s to blame for this?</p>

<p><strong>Working from your home can be a blessing and/or a disaster.</strong> It depends on how you are able to handle it. Working from home is not for all of us. There are many people who much prefer to get out into the corporate world to work, and then there are some who want to take the plunge and start a <strong>home based business</strong> but don’t know how or when.</p>
<p>My suggestion, take it one step at a time. It is extremely important to take care of YOU first. Then and only then can you concentrate in the important decisions of whether working from home is right for you.</p>
<p>I can personally attest that the decision for me to <strong>work at home has been a blessing in disguise.</strong> I decided to outweigh the pros and cons and figure out what works well for me.<br />
If you’re considering starting a home based business you may want to find out the “why” for your decision. Below, I’ve listed the many attractions to working from home that helped me find my WHY:</p>
<p>•  Commute time<br />
- No more traffic jams and late hours.<br />
•  Save money on gas<br />
- This is a no brainer! With high gas prices today, working from home is a luxury<br />
•  Flexibility<br />
- I can come and go as I please — if my child is sick, if he has yet another day off of school or if we want to take a two-week family vacation, I can arrange my schedule around those needs.<br />
•  Spend more time with your family<br />
- This is my number one why to working from home.<br />
•  Be the boss<br />
- This is my number two why to working from home.<br />
•  Tax break<br />
-Low overhead, Home-office tax deductions… just to name a few.</p>
<p>All of the above benefits add up to increased <strong>job satisfaction and profitability</strong> if your true passion is to work at home. I truly believe that if we are doing what we love, we will be productive and feel excited about work; which in return will translate to success.</p>
<p>Finding a passion brings the elemental question of finding your life’s purpose. Evaluate how realistic working at home would be for you. Find out your work style. Do you mind being isolated for a few hours a day? If not, then perhaps setting a schedule to get out of the house a few hours a week would help.</p>
<p>If you’ve been in the corporate world for a long time, how will you feel when you see your neighbors head off to their jobs? Would you feel free? Scared? Delighted? Confused? Relieved? For most new work-at-homers, there is a period of adjustment. Others, make the adjustment rather quickly…so be prepared.</p>
<p>It helps if you ask yourself questions such as the following to help you decide:</p>
<p>•	What do I assume will be the real benefits for me and/or my family?<br />
•	Is this the best time to consider working from home?<br />
•	What facts should I have before making the decision to work from home?<br />
•	Do I know where to get support both emotional and technical?<br />
•	Is it financially better to work at home or go to a regular job?<br />
•	Am I disciplined enough to work at home every day?</p>
<p>You may also have other questions to add. Remember, working at home isn’t for everyone. However, when you have honestly asked and answered these and your own questions, you’re well on your way to discovering whether working at home is right for you. </p>

<p>If you&#8217;ve been digging around at the library and gotten into the archives of the masters you&#8217;ve almost certainly discovered the formula of AIDA = Attention, Interest, Desire and Action. that&#8217;s a good start, but this is how it&#8217;s really done.</p>
<p>As you write your piece, try to get into the head of your client or prospect. What exactly are they looking for and how would they benefit from using your product or service? Furthermore, how would they benefit by buying from you rather than a competitor. So.. give it a shot.</p>
<p>Just one thing.. make sure you budget a whole bunch of time - even a short piece can take a non-writer as long as 10 to 20 hours to get right.</p>
<p>Here you go: </p>
<p><strong>1. Headline (the &#8220;Attention&#8221; part)</strong></p>
<p>This is, by far, the most important element - this has to be a big, bold promise of some kind. Give them a reason to read the next line.</p>
<p><strong>2. Sub-Headline.</strong></p>
<p>Just as the purpose of the headline is to get you to read this line, the purpose of this line is to get them to read the next line. Plus, backing up the promise is really important.</p>
<p><strong>3. Benefits (sort of today&#8217;s version of &#8220;Interest.&#8221;)</strong></p>
<p>Use the benefits of your product (as opposed to features) to put your prospect smack in the middle of the picture. How should your customers feel when they&#8217;re using it? How would they feel if they missed out?</p>
<p><strong>4. More Benefits.</strong></p>
<p>Skepticism is high these days; it takes a lot to convince people.</p>
<p><strong>5. Proof.</strong></p>
<p>Testimonials work. Amazing facts are always good. Easy-to-understand statistics help, too. That sort of thing. Prove that your product does what you say it will do.</p>
<p><strong>6. Risk Reversal.</strong></p>
<p>How about a money-back guarantee? There can be no risk whatsoever.</p>
<p><strong>7. Photo.</strong></p>
<p>This isn&#8217;t required, but it will definitely increase your response rate. Show someone enjoying the product. Illustrate the benefits. Even a photo of you, which personalizes the piece and makes it seem real, helps a lot.</p>
<p><strong>8. Offer. (Just one, though)</strong></p>
<p>You have to offer something. It&#8217;s amazing how many ads are produced without an offer. &#8220;It&#8217;s important to get your out name out there,&#8221; is the reason heard most often. Sorry - without an offer, your ad is dead. Nothing happens.</p>
<p><strong>9. Call to Action.</strong></p>
<p>You must ask your prospect to do something. Really! If the rest of the ad is reasonably well-structured, people will act - they&#8217;ll take advantage of your offer and do exactly what you ask them to do. This is where your ad can become your best salesperson.</p>
<p><strong>10. Reducing the Resistance to Accepting Your Offer.</strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s that guarantee again. And it&#8217;s OK to mention it more than once - reducing your customer&#8217;s risk to zero is really important.</p>
<p>Now.. if you really want to kick it up a notch:<br />

11. Create a Sense of Urgency.</strong></p>
<p>Use language like: &#8220;Just five days left..,&#8221; &#8220;Only 12 lucky golfers will..,&#8221; &#8220;Take advantage today and you&#8217;ll also get..&#8221; You know what I&#8217;m talking about, right?</p>
<p>So there you have it. Try writing a couple different versions and split up your mailing or post two different web pages to see which one draws responses. That&#8217;s how it&#8217;s done..</p>

<p>Starting a home-based business was always a dream of mine. <strong>Today, millions of people aspire to become entrepreneurs</strong> and start their own home businesses but for some reason or another never really get around to it. Whatever your desires and motives are, below are 10 basic successful steps to starting in your own home-based business. </p>
<p><strong>1. What it means to be an entrepreneur</strong><br />
- Are you a risk taker? Do you see opportunities and go for it? Do you have your own creative ideas that can benefit others by helping them achieve their wants and/or needs? As an entrepreneur, these questions are important. Answer them and make your decision!</p>
<p><strong>2. Being Computer Savvy</strong><br />
- Computers are key to any business especially an online business. Learning a word processing software such as MS Word, Word Perfect, Outlook Express, etc. will enable the growth of your business. Do you have computer skills?</p>
<p><strong>3. Being Internet Savvy</strong><br />
- Build your own website/blog and consider marketing your business. You can market via email, networking, and creating a newsletter featuring your products and valuable information and tips on how this product will add value to your customers. Have you started your own website/blog yet?</p>
<p><strong>4. Start a business you’re passionate about</strong><br />
- My passion is business. I enjoy writing and publishing business articles and products which helps me succeed with my own home-based business. Find your hidden talent and start building your own business at home. Begin by making a list of all your hobbies, interests etc., that will help you get ideas to implement. When you do something you love, it is fun and not work!</p>
<p><strong>5. Obtain a business license </strong><br />
- It is imperative to have your business legally prepared. You need to have a business license, a home occupation license, if running your business from home, a city or county license, (depending on what state you live) plus you need to register your business as fictitious if you are not using your name as a business. For instance, If John Doe has a business name as John Doe’s Grooming Parlor, a fictitious name isn’t necessary. </p>
<p>- When opening a business in your residence, additional information is required. Some businesses require more than a city license to be fully licensed. Please check with your local city &#038; state office for detailed information.</p>
<p>- While it is my understanding that there are many businesses who are operating “under the table”, so to speak, I highly advise against this practice. If you are just interested in selling a few things out of your home, don’t worry about this section, as you should not have any form of tax liability for selling your own belongings. However, if you start a business to make some money, you need to look at the legal aspects of running a business. Eventually, those who operate under the table will be caught. </p>
<p>- If you are running an Internet business it is not as anonymous as some people may believe. Keep in mind, the government designed the Internet in the first place! They know how it works! Legalize it and you will sleep better at night! </p>
<p>- It really is simple. This is not as complicated as you think, so don’t worry! I know I fussed and fretted over this for a good while and when I actually went “legal”, I kicked myself because the process was so simple. </p>
<p>- Determine the type of home business you want to start. Sole Proprietorship, Partnership or Corporation. A sole proprietorship is the least costly and least complicated way to set up your business. Remember that a sole proprietorship is totally dependent upon your ability to work and have good ideas for growth. There is no other person in the business to rely on. </p>
<p>- A partnership happens when two or more entrepreneurs form a company. Legal fees for setting up such an arrangement are usually more costly than those required for a sole proprietorship and less costly than a corporation. The up side of a partnership is more capital for growth and more ideas for how to grow the business. The downside is getting rid of a bad partner. </p>
<p>- A corporation is the most complicated and most costly of the three options. The ongoing accounting, legal, and tax reporting obligations of a corporation are much more complicated than for the other two options. Corporations have boards, shareholders, and shared responsibility for the business. It is necessary to keep everyone informed of decisions, the company’s financial status, and a host of other actions. </p>
<p>- It is wise to seek the advise of an attorney in the beginning of your work-from-home situation in order to avoid serious problems later on. An attorney will guide your decision about what legal form your company should take. </p>
<p>- If using a fictitious name for the business, it must be registered first with the state. Call your city &#038; state office to find out their phone number. Usually, you can do this online. Visit their site and fill out a fictitious name form. A fee may or may not apply. </p>
<p>- Is your home located in the city? Some states like Florida require a county license if your business isn’t located in the city. If not sure, contact your local jurisdiction office for licensing information. </p>
<p>- Complete the home occupation application and the business license application. You may download the forms from your city hall website. Call your city hall office to find out their website address and fees. </p>
<p>- Forward your applications and fees to your city hall office either by mail or by visiting the office. They will usually accept cash, checks, debit cards, VISA, MasterCard or American Express credit cards. Again, check with your local city hall office. </p>
<p><strong>6. Open a business checking account</strong><br />
- Visit your local bank and obtain a DBA checking account which is usually FREE. The purpose of a business checking account will be to cash your customers’ checks made payable to your business. Remember to take your business license and some form of ID such as a driver’s license. Start with a small deposit and you’ll soon get your printed checks ready for business.</p>
<p><strong>7. Place an inexpensive classified ad in your local newspaper advertising section</strong><br />
- Start out small and test your offer with a low cost classified ad. Ads that are placed in local papers will run quickly, unlike ads placed in magazines. </p>
<p><strong>8. E-mail marketing</strong><br />
- Consider e-mail marketing by offering FREE reports and valuable information about your products. Subscribe to other e-mail newsletter and place low cost test ads to get the world wide web exposure for your offers. Consider creating your own e-mail newsletter.</p>
<p><strong>9. Networking</strong><br />
- Let everyone you meet know what you do and also listen to what they do. Exchange business cards and refer clients to them. Ask them to forward your business cards to anyone they know. Find an interesting article related to the other person’s business, clip it and mail it to them with a note that says: Thinking of you…here’s an article you may find interesting. These little small but important tactics work wonders.</p>
<p><strong>10. FREE publicity with press releases</strong><br />
- Write a business news press release to area newspapers. State why your home business would be of interest to readers. Remember to state why your business will help people save time, money, etc., showcase the benefits!</p>

<p><strong>Sales letters are a fact of business life. </strong>They can be a terrific way to get your message across. Why do small businesses require a sales letter? It&#8217;s simple. Well written direct mail works. Plain and simple!</p>
<p><strong>Sales letters are a great personal form of communication. </strong>Express yourself in simple words and allow your readers to quickly identify your offer. Make your offer attractive and put it right up in front. Most readers will only skim through your letter so grab their attention in the very beginning. Do your very best to create a personal bond between the letter and the reader. Make it easy for the reader to quickly understand your offer. Make it attractive and pull your reader in to read more.</p>
<p><strong>Below, I’ve listed 5 ways to immediately pull their interest:</strong></p>
<p><strong>1. </strong>Tell a story and make a point. Relate to everyday life situations and connect with your readers. It’s hard to resist reading stories that sound like someone’s experiences with similar situations. People love success stories when they tell us how to get success ourselves.</p>
<p><strong>2. </strong>Tell a story about a particular product that made it easier and what benefits it offers. How did this product engage you to succeed and how it can engage others as well.</p>
<p><strong>3. </strong>Offer a freebie such as a free special report, a discount off a particular product, a free brochure or booklet. Everyone enjoys free stuff!</p>
<p><strong>4. </strong>Ask a question. Entice a reader to answer it. Asking questions will mentally involve the reader in your sales letter and offer and pull them further into reading. Asking questions in your sales letters will ultimately have the reader saying “yes” to your sale.</p>
<p><strong>5. </strong>Solve a problem. Direct a reader’s attention to a problem and then make the problem seem worse. Then, introduce and market your service/product as the solution to that problem.</p>
