Q: I haven't seen the talented Paul Bettany in anything for a while. Can you tell me what projects he has coming up? -- Terry M., Punta Gorda, Fla.

A: Paul, 38, is getting aboard the vampire train. In August, he is set to start filming "Priest," in which he plays a priest desperate to save his niece from a bloodthirsty pack of vampire-like creatures. His co-star is "Twilight" bad-boy Cam Gigandet, who again plays a vampire -- this time he's a bloodsucking sheriff.

In September, you can see Paul as Charles Darwin in "Creation," which co-stars his real-life wife, actress Jennifer Connelly, as his on-screen wife, Emma. He is also returning to "Iron Man II," which is scheduled for a May 2010 release, as the voice of Tony Stark's computer, JARVIS.

On Oct. 18, 1977, legendary crooner Bing Crosby walked off a golf course in Spain where he had just finished 18 holes of golf. Turning to his friends with his trademark smile, he remarked, "That was a great game of golf, fellas."

Crosby then turned for the clubhouse, collapsed and died.

STANLEY, NC East Lincoln Speedway is set to host the TJs Motorsports Warehouse Mid-Season Championship this Saturday night.

Up for grabs in all divisions will be double first place money as well as double points. We have had a great season so far, said East Lincoln Speedways Bob Mack. We have seen some fantastic racing in the first half and I expect Saturday night to be as wild as anything we have seen so far.

SEOUL (Reuters) - A fresh wave of cyber attacks that slowed U.S. and South Korean websites this week hit more targets on Thursday, a Web security firm said, while the South's spy agency has said the hacking may be linked to North Korea.

The impact of the attacks, aimed so far at dozens of sites including the White House and the South's presidential office, was seen as negligible, experts said, but served as a reminder that Pyongyang has been planning for cyber warfare.

RALEIGH, N.C. Better Business Bureau of Eastern North Carolina (www.bbb.org) is warning consumers about an advance-fee loan company that is targeting individuals, via the internet, who have poor credit history and difficulty obtaining traditional loans.

Consumers are reporting that Bloomfield Lending Group is using a vacant Winston-Salem, N.C. address and claiming to have been in business for 10 years.
