My 40 a week working hours were turned into 50. I am under tons of papers, plastic parts and work to do. I have been too busy to write or even read other blogs. I can’t go on like this otherwise I will go nuts with so much work. I am too tired, even to write. I must change this. I want to keep my blogs, I want to write, so…this weekend my blogs will be updated with many good stuff.

From time to time I am surprised with some interesting questions from my daughter. This week she asked why do I wear two marriage rings and my husband none.

Well, first of all one of the gold rings I wear is on the right end and it is what we call a dating ring. The diamond engagement rings thing is not a very usual ritual among middle society so usually when we begin a serious relationship we offer/receive a basic gold ring.

My husband’s dating ring was destroyed in an accident he had even before we got married and we never bought a new one. Mine was always used on my left hand.

When we got married we got our wedding rings that we use on our left hand. My husband’s ring broke a few years ago due to his job and was never replaced. A few weeks ago my hands started swelling a little and I had to remove the dating ring, so now I only use the wedding ring.

So these are the reasons I used two ring, now only one and my husband none.

Last night my son sang and danced at the school party. The class was just adorable and wonderful on the singing and dancing. People liked them so much that they had to dance a second dance that was not scheduled. The second dance was preformed also by the all class and it was Thriller from Michael Jackson. Imagine, the class, boys and girls with their hair like zombies and dancing like ones. It was absolutely wonderful.

dsc08152Today the party continues although with older boys from higher classes and at night tents with Hot dogs, crepes, and other food are going to be available for those wanting to eat there.

Right now we are waiting for my nephew to arrive because the kids are all going to our swimming pool. I just want to take a nap but with the kids around there is no way I can so so. I’m glad the weather is hot, in fact too hot for wearing bodystockings but hot enough to spend the day outdoors in the swimming pool.

We plan on having dinner at school, my kids love hot dogs and I for sure will find something I like to eat there.

A mixed of stress, anxiety, despair and pain took over me this morning. For those visiting my blog on the last weeks know about my son’s migraines and headaches, the visits I made with him o the ER, the visit to the homeopathic and the news about the possibility of my son having something serious on his brain. Today was his check up appointment in the hospital.

I was horrified with the possibility of a bad diagnosis the doctor might tell me.

I am relieved now. I presented a report of the headaches and the only pattern is that the headaches have more incidence when he is under pressure at school, specially during exams and hard exercises. For a few days now, he doesn’t have headaches at all so the doctor says, with the end of school he probably won’t have headaches anymore. Neurological exams are normal so no further exams are required.

The doctor told me she could see I was really worried because on her own words: “I can see that stress is better for you to lose weight than the best diet pills in the market. Don’t worry anymore about your son’s headaches, stop stressing about that and start eating. Your son needs a strong mother”.

I know I lost some weight this last weeks because I was so stressed about the headaches, but it was stronger than me.

Although I am relieved and more relaxed with this diagnosis I keep thinking why the homeopath told me his brain signals were not normal? Well, probably the brain was weaker due to the stress.

I will keep an eye on my son, writing down every time he has headaches and in November we will be back to the check up to see how we did.

My car is back from repair. It is like new, the motor was all revised, new parts, it’s like a brand new 0 kilometers car.

My FIL says we will have car for more 10 years. As we couldn’t afford a new one right know, fixing the one we had was an option. Having my FIL as the mechanic, we don’t have to pay for hand work but…the cost was huge and I am in debt again. Well… we can’t have everything, can we?

This is the beautiful tree I have in my garden. I have tried to find a similar one online to check on its name but I had no success.

The flowers of this tree seem a kitchen tool we use to wash and clean the inside of the milk bottles. The red color of the flowers and the polen they contain attract many, many bees. On one side it’s great to see the tree full of bees, full of life, on the other side my kids don’t approach the tree because they are too scary of the bees.

Maybe one day flowers will have a code and we just need to use a barcode scanner to check the name. For now, I need your help.

Today my husband and my son started painting my son’s room. In March and April my husband painted the living room, the library and the entrance hall. Now it’s time to go upstairs.

The stair wall is going to be the last space to be painted because the ceiling is two high and we still don’t know how we are going to paint it. So, once the kids are sleeping in the same room due to a “winter save energy measure” and we are almost in Summer, it’s time to prepare the rooms and put each kid on his/her room.

My son wants a blue wall and many Naruto posters and images on his room. Well, he is having the blue wall, regarding the Naruto posters and images…I’m not sure yet. I wanted to take a picture of the “before” room but I guess there is something wrong with the compact flash memory card of my camera. It says no memory/full disk although I only have a few photos on it.

I will try to get photos tomorrow so that I have the before and the after. I’m looking forward to see how the blue wall turns out.

Having a swimming pool at home means wet floor in the kitchen and living room when they leave the pool to go to the hot bath.

Having a swimming pool at home means I don’t have to spend money in golf training aids or tennis equipment.

I have already eaten the first “layer” of strawberries and now I am waiting for the new one to grow.

Today I’ didn’t work as well as tomorrow. We got lucky this year and we got too public holidays one following the other. Today it’s Dia de Portugal (Portugal Day) and tomorrow Corpus Christi, Friday I will go back to work.

My son had another birthday party from a school colleague. We dropped him at 15.30 and when I tried to pick him up we were invited to join the party. We had a great time, mothers to one side and fathers to another. As the kids are all in the same class we were able to discuss school subjects as well as kids behavior. It’s always interesting to hear other mother’s opinion regarding kids subjects.

The kids had major fun. The house is located in a very low traffic area and they were able to play in the street as well as in the garden. They are all in the same classroom and it’s amazing how they interact when they are away from school environment.

There were also two baby announcements, one from a person I know and the other from a 45 years old I didn’t know.

It’s amazing the things we learn and know on these birthday parties. We all work all weeks and barely see each other so, when we meet we just catch up with the news.

Tomorrow my son has another birthday party and we are all going to meet again once it is from another boy from the classroom.

I have been silent about my son’s headaches but now it’s time to speak out. The strong headaches are gone but he has an almost constant headache that almost goes unnoticed unless we ask him if his head aches. He says it’s a kind of very weak headache that doesn’t leave his head.

He already has a follow up appointment in the hospital on June 19, so meanwhile, I decided to take him to the homeopathic doctor that treated his allergies and asthma when he was younger. The diagnostic was devastating.

He is sinusitis free so the headaches are not from sinusitis. Now, the homeopath said that it seems that there is something strange with his brain. The brain is not reacting to the exam he did. He said that something is very wrong with his brain.

The doctor told me to insist on MRI even if in the hospital they say that his neurological tests are normal. He said hos brain must be checked.

Guess what? I am in shock. This was something I thought possible but wanted it to be impossible. This is something I knew I could hear but I didn’t want to hear.

I know that there are a lot of possibilities, some good some bad. When I look at him and see him so grown-up, so happy, I think: There is nothing wrong with him.

He is sleeping in my bed tonight, he is here next to me and all I can do is cry and thing: why isn’t he OK??????

Since last Friday that the temperatures have been around the 30ºC (86F) so my husband already mounted the swimming pool in the backyard. The kids were thrilled and since Saturday that they have been swimming every day.

My daughter loves to dive in the pool so every time I want to take a photo she is under water. However she feels the cold very soon and after a few minutes in the water she starts to shiver and her lips turn purple. On the contrary my son is never cold and he can stay in the water for hours.

The inflated top part of the pool must have a small hole because it keeps losing air. We have to inflate it every single day. Everyday we try to find out where the hole is but no luck yet. We are taking a close look to all the areas where custom rubber stamps were used as well as certain joint areas in the plastic where a it’s possible to exist a leak.

The swimming pool is excellent for the kids to spend a happy and quality time. They love it and while they are playing there they are happy and having fun.
