Register your Touch N Go card to view your transactions

Do you know that you can actually access your card’s transactions statement online? You can do it by first registering your card then after approval, woolah!

You may access the login and registration page at http://e-services.touchngo.com.my/e-Statement/

We will be able to view our transactions for the past 3 months.

And also, Touch N Go card has lifespan of 10 years only. I’m not sure if this is one of ways to make more profit or is it for security reason. But, anyway, you can check your card expiry at http://www.touchngo.com.my/checkCardExpiry.html

Group photo after returning from Pulau Tikus

I would have forgotten when I last went to Pulau Tikus if there’s date printed on the photo. This time, I went with my company’s colleagues.

As usual, we booked for 3 hours for RM24. The journey to the island was quite a tough one as we were moving against the current. It took us a good 45 minutes to reach there but just a mere 27 minutes to get back from the island. I guess current does play a big role here.

The sea was on low tide that morning. And for this, we were able to land on the sandy area which made life a lot easier compared to the last time I went there. We had to land on the bumpy rocky area the last time around. It was definitely much more dangerous than landing on sandy area. Thank god.

As the tide is still low that time, we were able to explore around the island on foot. Juggling through the rocky terrain is what we mostly encountered as what we can see from the map on the left.

We even met some people who took boat to the island to chill and fish.

Surely a good experience kayak-ing there sometimes. Oh ya, after ‘conquering’ the island for the second time. I would like to give some tips if you are planning a trip there anytime soon!

Tips

• Sunblock. Yes, definitely needed.
• Sunglasses. If you are not OK with the strong blinding sunlight.
• Waterproof container. For you to keep important stuff.
• Sweet/candy are recommended.
• Drinking water. Critical.
• Complete set of spare clothes.
• Vinegar. In case of jellyfish attack! (You can borrow from the kayak rental office)
• And lastly, you may want to go on low tide. You will enjoy much better there and a lot safer.

Oh ya, that one! OK, I will reply you in Facebook (rather than replying immediately, verbally!).

It’s a serious contender of what made Twitter that we know today. Status update! Now that Facebook has gone mobilized enabling greater audience approach, it has, indeed, becoming part of our daily life.

There’s one story I would like to share:-

Once upon a day long long time ago (that’s how story telling always begin,right?), Melinda (oh yes, we need to give a name) got recruited into a magazine company for her internship. Out of good deeds wanting to form better alliance and relationship with her new company friends, she added her boss (and some other) to her Facebook. Nice girl!

Then, magic happens!

She falls sick and got herself MC for a week. She is excused from her daily torture routine a week. Then, she go and update her Facebook status. It says “Going to Singapore for holiday for a week yay!!!”

Kaboom! She’s dismissed.

Change your privacy settings to protect yourself

Oh yes, we will rename it to myLensDB. We believe that this should be able to reflect the project much more better. my may stands for Malaysia or simple ‘my’, myself.

With it’s own address now, mylensDB is set to get much more exposure in the giant spider net and have more room for expansion. From now on, all the development would continue on there.

May I present you with the latest addition of feature into LensDB. Hereby, we can view the latest entries added into the database making deal searching much better now.It’s part of our main objective making lens search easier. Ultimately, we may want to implement some real-time/ ajax search mechanism but that’s somewhere in the R&D department for now. Stay tune.

Of course, there are some minor bugs fixed here and there since our launch. We hope that our project has benefit some users, like you, like us!

The reason: Computer is not set to read non-Unicode language like Traditional Chinese. You can view yours at Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Advance > Language for non-Unicode Programs

The solution: There are number of solutions in actual facts but let’s stick to 2 simple ones.

1. You may change the language you desire right on that setting page BUT doing so may jeopadize the stability of other programs that are not running on the language that you are going to apply.
2. Better way, install Microsoft Applocale Utility. (Hint: You need to validate your Windows to download the app, if you are having trouble doing so, you may just Google (okay, of you can Bing for it too now) for other download link without going through any validation).

I’m going to talk about Applocale. It’s a free piece of software released by Microsoft for free. It’s intention is to make problematic programs to run temporary. But nevertheless, we can make use of this program to make our lives simply, easier.

Just install it, choose the program that you intend to run and of course the language you want it to run on, and that’s it basically. It is really that simple. And going back to the same page again we will now see…

There are lots of channels in getting a good deal in buying new camera equipments, particularly lenses. We will often check the online store like Shashinki and Yamiya, this, being the most convenient and fastest way. There is also times when we might venture into local photography forums like PhotoMalaysia or Shutter Asia to see if the fellow forum-ers have obtained any good deal in the local camera stores. Last but not least we may want to walk-in to our favorite camera store to get a quote too.

As there are many channels involved. We believe that we can speed up the process and helping each other in getting the best deal possible.

No registration is needed thus we highly encourage you to contribute to build up our database here. The interface is pretty simple, head on and tell us how you think and together we will make it a better one.

There’s more features planned and development is still on-going as the project grows. Hang on there!

The reasons? Mostly it is due to server migration performed over the last few days and apparently our source is not pumping out data.

So, please don’t be alarmed when you see sudden spike in registration in the following day.

The report:

1. Wordpress has been upgraded to 2.8 as opposed to 2.71 previously.
   
2. We are now riding on PHP 5.2.9 as opposed to 4.x previously.
   
3. And also MySQL 5.0.77-community as opposed to 4.x previously.
   
4. Server is running on 8 cores compared to 4.
5. Zenphoto is removed.
6. Posts with images linked to zenphoto are dead and pending review and fix.
7. Pending new gallery system.
