Most commonly Fraser Island is known for its large population of dingo’s, but it is also home to more than 350 different species of birds, almost 50 species of mammals, almost a hundred different kinds of lizards and snakes. There even remain a few wild horses on the island.

One common inhabitant of the island is the non-venomous Carpet Python. Award winning photographer Peter Meyer, once a Wildlife Ranger for Kingfisher Bay Resort, presents this beautiful short video in which you can watch the Carpet Python on the move as it climbs and stretches out amongst the native trees of Fraser Island.
