 <title>G:Mini and G:Micro New Maintainers</title>
 <link>http://www.goblinx.com.br/en/?page_id=909</link>
<description>The GoblinX Project splited the maintenance of the smaller distributions G:Mini and G:Micro. G:Mini is now maintained by Vitor Micillo Junior (www.minilinux.com.br) and G:Micro is maintained by Evaldo Junior Bento (http://infog.casoft.info). Both will work together with myself and they will be the responsable for the next releases of these distributions.
The distributions will follow some rules. Both only can use packages from GoblinX repository, only GPL or free applications and libraries and both will retain its small sizes.
This is the second stage of our reengineering plains. The project is working to also receive help with the biggest distributions and the repository in the near furute. We expect to follow a roadmap and release the distributions in the same day.

 <title>GoblinX Distributions Changes</title>
 <link>http://www.goblinx.com.br/en/?p=886</link>
<description>THIS IS IMPORTANT NEWS: For the next series the GoblinX distributions will be
different. First of all the GoblinX Premium will be abandoned, the G.Standard will not have
anymore five windows managers and each distribution will have a single windows manager.
The G.Standard will be our KDE distribution and G.Noblin the GNOME distribution.
The Premium will be discontinued and we will continue building the biggest distribution
like G.XFlash and G.Mega. These bigger distribution will fit DVDs and PENDRIVES sizes.

 <title>Save Changes Method</title>
<description>For the next releases we intend to implement a modification in
the way all changes are saved. Because our distributions can use different
resources and languages we need to improve the current method of saving changes.
The idea is have all changes saved in different directories for each Isolinux menu option.
This will be implemented to increase the usability of conflicting desktop such as KDE4 and KDE3,
but also because of the internationalization process.

<description>Steve Lake wrote a review of the GoblinX 2.7.
You can read the review to get his opinion about the system. The review has also some

"GoblinX is a LiveCD distribution built around Slackware Linux, and designed for ease of use.
The flexibility of GoblinX is worthy of mention, as even its boot options show this
ability. But is GoblinX an angel in disguise, or a troll under the bridge? Let's find out."

 <title>Ivman Replaced by GVFs/Nautilus</title>
 <link>http://www.goblinx.com.br/en/</link>
<description>During this week I started to test better Nautilus as volume manager
for Fluxbox. I decided it will replace Ivman and run since the Fluxbox login, not
as desktop manager, but as volume manager. Nautilus uses Gvfs as the handler for HAL
events and Gvfs is a userspace virtual filesystem with fuse support. Nautilus does
not need to be used as desktop manager to manager medias and mount possibilities.
Because of this change g.Micro will have its release postponed by few days.

 <title>Still Finding Errors</title>
 <link>http://goblinx.linuxish.net/</link>
<description>This week I upgraded almost all packages to match Slackware 12.2,
except of KDE4. After these upgrades I rebuilt all modules I am testing them trying
release as soon as possible the first beta of the next series. There are some
errors to correct and interfaces to test and improve. Most of the errors are
around Gnome. We will probably have the first beta to try in the next week.

 <title>Slackware 12.2 is Release</title>
 <link>http://www.slackware.com/announce/12.2.php</link>
 <description>Slackware 12.2 release is released.
Well folks, it's that time to announce a new stable Slackware release
again. So, without further ado, announcing Slackware version 12.2!
Since we've moved to supporting the 2.6 kernel series exclusively (and
fine-tuned the system to get the most out of it), we feel that Slackware
12.2 has many improvements over our last release (Slackware 12.1) and is
a must-have upgrade for any Slackware user.

 <title>Slackware 12.2 is a 0.1 Version</title>
 <link>http://www.goblinx.com.br/en/?p=678</link>
<description>Slackware 12.2 release is almost here. Patrick Volkerding posted yesterday new packages
and the following annoucement in Slackware current changelog:
While there are still some docs that need updating and probably a few more
tweaks and updates here and there, everything is mostly in place for the next stable
release, Slackware 12.2. The versions of major components like X and the
kernel can be considered frozen. Anything major that we have not
done yet will probably wait for the release after this next one. As Slackware 12.2 is only a
0.1 version bump, we ere trying to focus on making it better without causing instability or
losing compatibility with Slackware 12.1 wherever possible. Invasive changes like the new X
(that will require changes to xorg.conf) and merging KDE4 should probably wait for Slackware 13.0. We will call this batch Slackware 12.2 release candidate one.
