We are planning to organize a certain organization or a so-called foundation that will help less fortunate students but deserving one in our school to pursue with their studies. We are thinking that it is a way for us to share something to other people that really need something. We are also planning to give the beneficiary a special training about search engine optimization and web design so that later if the students are interested, they can render their service to the organization or foundation as their starting job and then let them find their way to the internet to find their own career online or offline.

Our problem is the fund that we will use for such objective. I suggested to them that we should accept projects on SEO Consultancy and IT consultancy jobs that can raise fund for such purpose. However, these plans are not yet materialized for each of us are busy with some things to solve our own problems. Me, I want this to happen but I think I don’t have enough resources for such as of this moment. Maybe by next year, I might pursue with this plan and maybe by this time my dream of helping other people thru SEO will come true.

What do you think of this idea, can I really make use of SEO to have an educational foundation or an organization that will let students from our province to continue with their studies and reach their dreams?

That’s right! My new websites and blogs gain some PR after several updates. The last time that there is an update as I remember was this May, just the other month. It seems that this is one of the changes that Google made on this PR changes. It seems that they can make any PR update any time they want or maybe they make the calculations of PR much easier, allowing newly built websites to gain an appropriate PR basing on a certain merit.

Well, this is good news for me and good news for those who are starting to have their websites. PageRank, even for others are not important, is still a great number or green bar to glance at whenever you open a certain website. It is like a status symbol for every website today that Google developed and dream by website owners around the world.

How’s your PR, did it increase or decrease?

I just recently received a notification from Wordpress‘ dashboard regarding the availability of the newest update of the blogging platform, which is version 2.8. I immediately updated the site and in just one click through its automatic upgrade features and I am all done. What I did first was to check if the browser still crashes whenever I upload a file using WP’s flash uploader via Firefox. It did not crashed anymore! I’ve been using Chrome lately in upgrading my blogs because of this Firefox crash issues whenever I am making image uploads via flash uploader, now its gone so I’m back to Firefox again. I’ve checked my other blogs but there’s no notification yet so I am still waiting for the said upgrade notice from WP.

According to Wordpress.org, the new released version have several scripting tweaks that speed-up the system. Syntax highlighting is now on the Code editor and they have made 790 fixes on the said update. If you want to see the difference, upgrade your Wordpress now.

Here’s the video from WP regarding the new version:
This bookmarks can be shared or recommended, from different articles to even images and videos. Popular social bookmarking sites today are the Digg, Delicious, Reddit, Mixx, Propeller, Pligg, StumbleUpon and a lot more. Common to these social bookmarking site is the feature of allowing users to rate or vote certain public bookmarks. Which then ranked by the site based on popularity and then post you on the fron page of the site. Usually if you got your site voted up to the page one, it is known that it will really kick off the traffic of your site.

Now, since I am really a big fan of those mentioned social bookmarking websites and I really want to have my own kind of site, so what I did is I build my very own social bookmarking site and named it as Social Weehz (http://social.weehz.com). The social bookmarking site is about several days old and doesn’t have any PR yet but I am in the process of doing such. I know that the site can’t be as big as Digg or Delicious but at least this will be another chance for me to try something else.

I recommend that you register now and receive the PR juice of the new dofollow social bookmarking site today.

Microsoft announced the new search engine that will replace the old Live Search. MSN/Live will be saying “Sayonara!” and Bing will say “Howdy!” instead. Today, when you try to go to Live.com, you will be forwarded to a new name called Bing.com. This new search engine or more described by Microsoft as Decision Engine is the new search service from them that uses a new approach in helping surfers to make better decisions through the use of the browser and surfing the web through the use of this new Bing.

According to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer:

Bing is an important first step forward in our long-term effort to deliver innovations in search that enable people to find information quickly and use the information they’ve found to accomplish tasks and make smart decisions.

- excerpt from

Microsoft’s New Search at Bing.com Helps People Make Better Decisions

Now, what is with the name Bing and what’s the reason whey they rebrand the name Live and use the name Bing instead? Here’s the answer from Microsoft Live Search Team’s blog:

So why did we pick Bing as the new brand name? We needed a brand that was as fresh and new as our approach. It needed to be like the product — optimized for the Internet. A name that was memorable, short, easy to spell, and that would function well as a URL around the world. We like Bing because it sounds off in our heads when we think about that moment of discovery and decision making — when you resolve those important tasks. And frankly, the name needed to clearly communicate that this is something new, to invite you to come back, to re-introduce you to our new and improved service and encourage you to give it a try. – excerpt from “The Sound of found: Bing“

Yet this is another very big “Bing” opportunity for every search engine optimization/marketers (SEO/SEM) specialists and practitioners from around the world to work on making their project websites at the top of the Bing. This might be another great help for net surfers/users to find what they really need on the web through just binging.

Well, lets BING it on!

The said slide presentation by Matt Cutts contains some important points involving the new algorithm that I think that is important for search engine optimization (SEO) practitioners and specialists to consider in dealing with their websites. It also shows relevance and importance of Wordpress to Google’s indexing, ranking and crawling activities over the web. As according to Matt Cutts, WordPress takes care of the 80%-90% of the mechanics of SEO.

Here’s the slide that I am talking about. According to Matt Cutts, there’s a video equivalent of this presentation later:

To summarize the idea, here’s what I think that you need to do with regards to smooth blogging, the platform Wordpress and SEO:

Install necessary plug-ins such as Akismet (for anti-spam), Super Cache (for fast load of pages with less server request) and All-In-One SEO (which is not mentioned on the slide but I think it will be very good with the blog’s campaign)

Update WordPress whenever there’s an update. Latest version has this automatic upgrade that lets you conveniently update your blog to the current WP release.

Set the permalink / URL structure.

Utilize relevant keywords into post.

Tweak the titles of the post. Be very descriptive but do not overdo it.

Update your blog regularly.

Gain a reputation. Find a niche that you’ll be known or will be your specialty.

Utilize multimedia on posts such as video, images and presentations.

Use Google and other search engine tools such as Google Webmaster, Analytics and Feedburner.

Avoid scam, shortcuts and paid posts

Be concern of the website security. Update.

I recommend that you view the slideshow, I might have missed something.

He also believe that the undefeated, fast and furious defender “Pretty Boy” will win against Marquez on the Mayweather vs Marquez match this coming July 18 of the year. If in case that this will be pursued and agreed upon by the two camps, the tentative schedule for the said Pacquiao vs Mayweather match will be on October of this year.

I think Mayweather needs to win first his come back match before he can say something about this issue. He should prove to the boxing fans world wide that he is still the same “Pretty Boy” boxer that they’ve seen on his peak years. Well if this will happen in the future, I am sure PPV and tickets earnings will surely be one of the top grosser of all boxing fights in the world.

Later, I will update this blog for more news about this upcoming match.
