Black Eyed Peas to Perform on So You Think You Can Dance this Thursday!

The Black Eyed Peas will be performing on the live results show for So you Think You Can Dance on Thursday, July 16. They are scheduled to perform I Got a Feeling from their New CD The E.N.D.

Earlier this season, one of the other songs from the album was used as the music for one of the couples’ performances. It’s a natural that the Peas’ music is used on the hottest dance show on TV. Normally, I don’t like Thursdays for the show because I hate to see any of the dancers have to go home. Now I can’t wait for Thursday!

So You Think You Can Dance: The Top 10 Dancers Are Revealed

Last night on So You Think You Can Dance, the bottom six dancers were Jeanine Mason & Phillip Chbeeb, Caitlin Kinney & Jason Glover and Melissa Sandvig & Ade Obayomi. The judges had a very tough decision to make about which two dancers to send home. Sadly, they decided to send home Phillip and Caitlin. Both are great dancers, but the other ten are just a bit better. Phillip made a very moving statement after it was announced that he was leaving. He just seems to have such a huge heart. I like him.

Then Nigel Lythgoe announced that both Phillip & Caitlin will be joining the Top 10 on the tour this year. That’s terrific news!!

So these are this season’s Top 10 dancers. They are all so very good, it’s just impossible to know who will emerge the winner this soon. I would be happy if any of them won. they are all so great!!

So You Think You Can Dance: The Top 12 Performed

This week on So You think You Can Dance, the top 12 dancers this season performed and after two are eliminated, the top 10 will be revealed. That means that those are the dancers going on the tour after the season ends.

The guest judge this week was Tyce Diorio and even though he is totally confident as a choreographer, he still seems a bit timid in the judging department. But he knows his stuff and give him another time to judge and I’m sure he’ll have it down.

This was my absolute favorite performance of the night! And not surprisingly, one of my favorite choreographers, Wade Robson choreographed the peice. (I’m sooooo glad he’s back this season!) Brandon Bryant and Janette Manrara danced this one perfectly too. It’s a jazz routine with some humor thrown in. I loved it!

Evan Kasprzak & Randi Evans did a great job performing a samba routine choreographed by SYTYCD vetrans Anya Garnis & Pasha Kovalev.

This was a fun routine where Jeanine Mason & Phillip Chbeeb performed a jive routine choreographed by Tony Meredith & Melanie LaPatin.

Caitlin Kinney & Jason Glover performed a Lyrical Jazz routine choreographed by Mandy Moore. I thought it was good, but not great.

Kupono Aweau & Kayla Radomski performed a very cool Broadway routine choreographed by Joey Dowling. Kupono has really come a long way this season!!

I have become such a fan of Melissa Sandvig & Ade Obayomi this season. They proved why when they took on a Waltz choreographed by Ron Montez. Fabulous!

This routine was hot, hot, HOT!! It was Brandon Bryant & Janette Manrara performing an Argentine Tango choreographed by Miriam Larici & Leonardo Barrionuevo.

Evan Kasprzak & Randi Evans did a really good job with a Hip Hop routine choreographed by Napolean & Tabitha D’Umo.

this was the first time this dance style has ever been performed on the show and from Nigel Lythgoe’s reaction, it will probably be the last. Here, Jeanine Mason & Phillip Chbeeb did a good job with it, but it wasn’t very technical or interesting to watch. It was a Russian Folk routine choreographed by Youri Nelzine.

Caitlin Kinney & Jason Glover were elegant with their performance of a Foxtrot choreographed by Tony Meredith & Melanie LaPatin.

Kupono Aweau & Kayla Radomski were amazing with this emotional performance of a Contemporary routine choreographed by Mia Michaels.

This was such a fun routine! It took me back to the days of disco and made me want to shake my groove thing! Here, Melissa Sandvig & Ade Obayomi performed a Disco routine choreographed by Doriana Sanchez.

Dance Your Ass Off: Week 2 Recap

I have to admit that I really like this show. Dance Your Ass Off is a fun hybrid between Dancing With the Stars and The Biggest Loser. Each contestant is trying to get in shape, while learning a difficult dance routine each week. The combination of their scores from the judges on their dance routines with their weight loss is the thing that decides who stays and who goes home.

This week, Alicia had a meltdown and started screaming and throwing things. It really made me think she needs to leave. Everyone in the competition is affected by her instability and it’s not good to keep her there. But that’s not what determines the elimination.

The dances in this episode were all disco dances and it was fun to see those old dances again. They really are fun to do and it was clear that most all of the dancers were having a good time.

I was most impressed with the dances of Pinky, Ruben, Brandon & Mara. They all really brought it this week. The one that I was least interested in was Alicia. The two people with the least weight loss this week were Warren and Brandon. The three in the final elimination decision were Alicia, Warren & Brandon. Unfortunately, Warren had to go.

I really like Warren’s personality and his enthusiasm. It’s a shame Alicia didn’t go home instead.

Dance Your Ass Off airs on Oxygen network on Monday evenings. Be sure to tune in!

So You Think You Can Dance: Cat Deeley at Season 6 Auditions

Here’s a great clip with So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley at the season 6 auditions. She tells about what makes the difference between making it to the finals and not making it. I really like the way she gets to know the dancers and acts as their friend in the audition process.

She goes on to tell us how she dreads Thursday night’s elimination shows and how close she feels to all the dancers. She then reveals what she did for the Fourth of July.

So You Think You Can Dance 5: Tabitha & Napoleon Talk Choreography

This is a great clip from Tabitha & Napoleon D’Umo where they talk about how they worked in collaboration with Dmitry Chaplain to create the group dance for So You Think You Can Dance this week.

They talk about the dance they all created together and about what the dancers need to do to make the audience vote for them each week. It’s very insightful and gives us a bit of a clue about why we love certain dancers. They bring magic to the steps. Cool!

So You Think You Can Dance 5: Costume Designing for This Week’s Show

I love that FOX is letting us in on the secrets behind the costume designs for So You Think You Can Dance this season. Here’s another clip of the process of designing the cool costumes the dancers wore in this week’s group dance with the huge picture frame. It was choreographed by Tabatha & Napoleon D’Umo as well as Dmitry Chaplain, so the costumes had to combine the look of hip-hop and ballroom. Here’s how it all came together:

So You Think You Can Dance 5: Karla & Vitolio Leave

I’m very sad to announce that this week on So You Think You Can Dance, the two dancers who had to go home were Vitolio & Karla. I have especially grown fond of Vitolio, with his story of courage and his kindness during the competition. It’s a very unfortunate thing that he has to leave. Karla is also a wonderful dancer and will be missed.

So You Think You Can Dance 5: The Top 14 Performances

The judges this week on So You think You Can Dance were, of course Mary Murphy & Nigel Lythgoe, but also included Mia Michaels. The level of dance this season is at an all-time high, in my opinion. It is impossible to predict the final dancers this soon.

Here’s an amazing photo of Ade Obayomi & Melissa Sandvig performing a Pas de Deux choreographed by Thordal Christensen. This is the prfect style for them both!

Randi & Evan Kasprzak were fortunate enough to draw another Broadway routine. This time, it was choreographed by Joey Dowling.

Kupono & Kayla performed a wonderful Contemporary routine choreographed by Sonya Tayeh.

In this photo, Karla & Vitolio perform a Quickstep choreographed by Jean Marc Genereux.

Phillip & Jeanine were great in a performance of a Hip Hop routine choreographed by Tabitha & Napoleon Dumo.

Here, Jason & Caitlin perform a Pop/Jazz routine choreographed by Brian Friedman.

And Brandon & Janette danced a Cha-Cha choreographed by Jean Marc Genereux.

More Details About SYTYCD Get Fit DVDs

I wrote a few days ago about the new fitness videos from the SYTYCD dancers, but didn’t have a lot of info about them yet.

I got a lot more information for you about the new So You think You Can Dance, Get Fit titles. The dancers for each are some of my favorites and I’ll bet they are some of yours too. On the Cardio Funk DVD, the dancers are Courtney Galiano leading a Disco routine, Travis Wall leading a Contemporary routine and Lauren Gottlieb leading Hip Hop. And on the Tone & Groove DVD, the dancers are Stephen “Twitch” Boss leading a Hip Hop routine, Dmitry Chaplin (who is also a pro dancer on Dancing With the Stars) leading a Cha Cha and Katee Shean leading Jazz. They both sound like fun!
