Recent advances in dollar-sign technology have brought some strange and fascinating new capabilities to the Email Branding section of FeedBurner's Email Subscriptions feature. First, sign in to your Google Account on FeedBurner and then click your feed's title, then Publicize > Email Subscriptions > Email Branding:

-To feature the title of the latest post in your subject line — just put ${latestItemTitle} in the Email Subject/Title textbox.
-Help your readers uncover exactly how many new missives you've got planned for them in each update. Check the "Change Subject…" box and reveal a secondary subject line to use when 2 or more feed posts are delivered in a single email.

Please note that ${pithyRetort}, ${iambicPentameter}, and ${heartfeltApology} are not yet supported.

Now, when you enter a search query on FriendFeed, you would see real-time updates stream at the top of your screen. You don’t need to constantly click refresh to immediately see what people are saying about a particular topic, as FriendFeed’s real-time search keep searching across FriendFeed, including imported services like blogs and Twitter accounts. Searches using advanced search options and saved searches are also in real-time. And now you can embed a real-time search in your blog or web page.

web2.0collage is web app that lets you learn, what web sites you've been visiting. After fetching the data from your internet history, the app presents the list of sites in an inconic mesh, mug, t-shirt etc. Another site that does the same sniffing is How web 2.0 aware are you?, it presents the list as anchor link. How can you prevent this from happening? Recommend using Firefox and the NoScript addon.

Aviary web app added another tool to their impressive collection, an easy-to-use web app for taking screenshots of any webpage by just adding the URL of the page into your address bar after http://aviary.com/. Once the page is captured, you can crop and edit it online, add simple markup to it and save it to your desktop, or host it online with a single click. You'll need to sign up for an Aviary account to save your work, and editing results may vary if you use the CPU-intensive "advanced editing" features. If you want additional options, for example to capture a page at different resolutions or to only capture a portion of the page click Screen Capture on Aviary's homepage.

At a press conference in Buffalo, New York, Yahoo! announced plans to build one of the greenest, most energy-efficient data centers in the world, in Lockport, New York. The data center will be powered mainly by renewable hydroelectric power from Niagara Falls, with 90% of that energy will powering the servers. Yahoo! expects to have an annualized average PUE (power usage effectiveness) of 1.1 or better. To achieve that, the company’ve come up with a unique building design, called the Yahoo! Computing Coop (because it looks like something chickens live in), which’s angled to take advantage of Buffalo’s microclimate, using 100% outside air to cool the servers.

Some sources close to Microsoft, confirm that Windows 7 RTM build will be chosen over the next few days and will be officially announced on July 13th, 2009, the same day as the WPC09 (Worldwide Partner Conference) will take place in New Orleans. TechNet, MSDN, and other partner connections will be getting their hands on the RTM build shortly after, if not on the same day, reports.

Google India, apparently ordered some quarter-page advertisements to appear in a variety of city supplements of The Times Of India, leading English-news daily in the country. “I saw a quarter-page advertisement from Google in ‘Nagpur Times’ (city supplement of  TOI). It had a message “Take off to exciting destinations. Keep your airfare on ground.” It has a screen shot of Google search box with query “Cheap tickets Goa”. However the tag line there was different in Ahmedabad city edition, the message: “How to remove the excess weight from your airfare”. And the search query in this ad was “Cheap tickets Kerala”,” reports PluGGd.
