These elements give a habitable character to the interior space.

Apart from providing protection from natural elements such as rain, snow, wind and other natural calamities, an interior space is also responsible for creating moods, depending upon the theme of the decoration.

Depending upon the functional purpose of the interior space, the quality and quantity of the furniture and other elements may change. For example a "meditation center" might not require any furniture at all, but a gymnasium on the other hand requires specially designed equipment.

For the sake of this article we are only going to concentrate on bedrooms. A bedroom is a space, which is close to our heart. This is the space where we take rest and regain the vital energy force for the next day's work. A typical bedroom consists of a double/single bed depending upon the size and occupancy of the room, wardrobe, study table, chairs for informal gathering, dressing table, side tables adjacent to the bed for keeping items such as telephone, watch, etc..

Since a bulk of volume gets occupied with the furniture pieces, the beauty of a bedroom greatly depends upon the quality of the furniture. But that's not all. Any interior space can be greatly enhanced using "accessories" and some great amount of detailing can be added to an existing bedroom with furniture.

1). Use of decorative curtains
These are called as "valances" are a very good means to decorate the windows and other openings. These decorative curtains have 2 purposes. a) They define a window opening b) They diffuse the incoming sunlight and help the dispersion of light evenly. Valances can be easily be prepared at home with some basic knowledge of stitching.

2). Wall Hangings
Wall hangings are used as an alternative for wall paintings. These have a great advantage that they can be prepared from almost any material. Some possible options for material use could be matt finished paper, handmade paper, silk cloth, bamboo sticks, jeans cloth!, wool, plastic sheets, crape papers, etc... Small square pieces of these materials along with bits of mirrors pieces can be creatively used to prepare a wall hanging.

3). Wall Paintings
The choice of the painting in this case highly depends upon the likes/dislikes of the user. Also the nature of the surface on which the painting is going to be, is also important.

4). Photographs
Most people like to use framed photographs of the family members, ancestors, or some live stills from outside world. This method has got a great advantage. The user has got perfect control over which kind of photos to choose. Photographs of real people can greatly add a human touch to an interior space.

5). Statues
These greatly add to the quality of the space. In case of bedrooms the statues which can add some interest to the overall theme can be used. Some gift articles come in the form of statues or a watch embedded in it can serve two purposes at a time. They add some grace to the design and at the same time, become a useful functional piece.

6). Shade Loving Plants
Depending upon the size of the bedroom, lots of varieties of shade loving plants are available today. If the plant is a flowering one, then this can be very creatively used. A flowering plant can greatly add to the mood of an space because of its changing nature of foliage and color.

7). Decorative Lamp Shades
Decorative lamp shades have a very unique quality attached to them. Because they are functional mostly at night times, the shape of the lamp shade itself can be chosen in such a way, that will add some interest in the bedroom. During its functional times a lampshade which is made of semitransparent cloth covers can add some wonderful ambiance in the interior space.

8). Free standing wooden partitions
These are used in large bedroom to define certain areas of the same space into different parts. for example a wooden partition can be used to segregate a study space inside a bedroom or a decorative wooden partition can be used to hide the direct entry to the toilet, by creating a private area.

These are some of the ideas I have come up with randomly. These can be a good starting point. You can always come up with more good and creative ideas of your own. A very creative use of these accessories can definitely cheer up an interior space

About the author:
Shrinivas Vaidya is the webmaster of Bedroom-Design-And-Decorating-Ideas.com. I want this room to be a haven and an escape for you. You won’t see your room as that if you don’t like it and the decorations you have in it. Remember: small steps!

1. Walk in to your bedroom as you walked in to the family room and look at it critically. Is it cluttered? What’s the first thing that you notice? Do whatever that is first. If it’s making the bed, do it. If it’s putting dirty clothes in a basket, do that. Whatever it is, get it done.

2. Does your bedroom fall under the Law of Flat Surfaces? If so, start by clearing off the dresser(s) and headboard. If you have papers there, look through them, pitch what needs to be pitched, and file away (as you did in the study) what needs to be filed. Once you can see the tops of the dressers and headboard, run over them quickly with your duster.

3. If you have lots of things on your dresser tops and top of the headboard, the next challenge is to de-clutter. You’ve already done the paper-aspect of this—now look critically at the other things you have. Do you have too many jewelry boxes? What about baskets that are supposed to organize things? Now is the time to determine what you absolutely love and wear all the time and what you hardly look at and almost never wear. Pull out the things you’re not crazy about and get rid of them. Give them away, throw them away, or sell them online. It doesn’t matter—as long as what’s left is what you truly love. If you have too many “organizing baskets,” now is the time to realize that more things to hold your clutter isn’t “organizing”—organizing is paring down what you have and then keeping it orderly. Go through your baskets and determine which perfume bottles are your favourites and which ones you just don’t use anymore. There’s no glory in keeping 35 scents on your dresser if all they do is collect dust and make things look messy.

4. Let’s move on to the floor. Can you walk freely in your room? If not, use the laundry-basket method and pick up the things on your floor. Deposit the items in their correct location and run the vacuum. No moving the bed or dressers—just sweep where you can easily walk.

5. Look at your windows—are they grimy? What about the window ledges? Grab your rag and window cleaner and give them a quick once-over. You’ll be amazed at how much dust you pick up and how clean your ledges will look after that!

Keep going in the master bedroom—we’re going to go inside closets and dressers next! On to Pt. 2!

Information about Bedroom Ideas.

What is good or successful for me may not be so from your point of view.

But when it comes to interior design, there are certain factors which are always present no matter what the use of the space is. Let's have a look at the bare minimum design factors a space must have so that it can be called a comfortable and habitable space.

1) Proportions of the room.

The word "proportions" is always used in the design field. Every interior space which is being used by humans must be proportionate. Proportions are extremely important in any design.

Every 3 dimensional object has properties such as length, width and height. When these 3 are in accordance with the proportions of various parts of human body we call it a "proportionate" design.

For example a handle of a wardrobe must have dimensions such that our fingers can hold it properly for effortless and smooth action. or a chair seat must have enough are so that we can sit comfortably. Again the type of seating will change the dimensions of the chair. A chair in waiting lobby of a bank will be different than a sofa.

So proportions play a major role in interior design and furniture in your bedroom must also follow these rules. The dimensions of the double bed, it's height from floor level, height of wardrobe, dimensions of dressing table, etc...all these matter as far as function is concerned.

2) Natural light entering the room.

There is no alternative for naturally lit spaces. Sun being the strongest source of light and also helps to keep the biological balance of the planet Earth, it is very much necessary in the interior spaces.

Study shows that natural light can penetrate in an interior space up to 20 feet (Approx. 7 meters). Using appropriate position for window opening can easily achieve this.

3) Natural Ventilation

A free and unobstructed flow of air can be a great way to keep the atmosphere cool and clean in an interior space. This is possible where bedrooms are located at the corner of the building where 2 sides of the bedrooms have external faces.

Where it is not possible to provide windows on adjacent faces or opposite faces, a ventilator above the window is used. The concept behind the ventilator is simple. The lower half the bedroom height is always used by the habitants. Because of the constant use of this are the air temperature rises and air becomes light weight.

This hot air rises above and must need an escape. At such times ventilators above the window openings play a major role of circulating the flow through the room in an upward direction. When the lower portion of the room becomes empty fresh air from window takes its position, thus maintaining a balance.

4) Clear Movement Patterns.

Every bedroom has certain exit points attached to it. Such as

a) Exit to balcony/ terrace.
b) Exit to toilet block/ walk in closet
c) Exit to backyard (if on ground floor)

If we draw an imaginary line from the entry point to all these exit points, ideally the should not intersect. Since all other areas are already occupied with furniture, keeping the inside circulation space clear, helps to achieve a comfortable space.

5) Good Provision For Inclusion Of Accessories.

Accessories in a bedroom have equal importance. When all other factors mentioned above are fairly met what remains is the use of accessories which can make quite a lot of difference in the comfort level of the habitants.

a) The first and the most important is a good provision of artificial lighting. This includes basic lighting as well as special decorative lighting for decorative purposes.

b) Special provision for upholstery and linen. Small details such as curtain rods, provision for bed canopies can make the room extra decorative.

c) Use materials that are easy to clean and maintain. For example if you are using PVC flooring sheets on top of standard tiled flooring, is it washable? Think of what will happen if your child uses it as a painting canvas.

The discussion above was an attempt to look for some universal factor that can affect the comfort level of the users in a bedroom. Finally the feeling which you get when you use your bedroom is most important and is a good measure to decide the success factor of the design project.

However it is important to note that these are not the only factors that need to be looked upon, but I'm sure these can help as a starting point for further creative thinking.

Information about Bedroom Ideas.

Great for winding down. A tranquil color makes you want to sleep. If your bedroom is purely for sleeping, then blue would be an ideal color for the room.

Pink on the other hand is romantic. A tender color associated with romance. For a couple, that would be preferable as the bedroom is more than just for sleep. The bedroom is also a place for romance. For warmth and tenderness. For love.

If you are talking about passion, you might want to paint the room a bright passionate red.

But then again, how can you sleep in a bright red room. At the end of a hard stressful day, you just want to relax in each other's company for a time of romance and then sleep when you are really exhausted. Red might by going overboard.

A pale pink is calming. A pale pink bedroom is soothing at the end of a stressful day.

A vibrant sugar pink is cheerful. An uplifting color. One of celebration. Of fun. A perfect for a romantic setting.

For a couple that is constantly fighting, how about painting the bedroom a coral pink? Or at least furnish the room with coral pink rugs, bedding and other furnishings? Walls in prisons are painted a coral pink to effectively reduce the violence of the inmates. It might help reduce the fights in your bedroom.

Researchers suggest that pink tends to calm people and get them more soft hearted. Sounds like a recipe for romance.

So to give your relationship with your spouse a boost, why not furnish your room with pink furniture, accents or furnishings from http://www.allpink.info/Pink-Living.html.

By the way, before you do paint the room, pink, get his approval first. No point starting a fight because you painted the entire room pink even though you know he hates pink.

About the author:
The author is the webmaster of www.allpink.info
You can find the full article at http://www.allpink.info/why_pink_bedroom.html

Best information about Bedroom Ideas.

For this reason, a lot of things have to be done for this to be achieved. A girls bedroom is one of the most thoughtful rooms you will find. This is because girls are naturally more artistic than their male counterparts. Therefore the room will never disappoint. It really does not matter what the age of the girl is and, all rooms need some extra attention. If you are a parent or a girl who is planning to decorate your bedroom, there are several things that you need to consider so that you can make the girls bedroom the haven that it should be. The first thing you consider is the kind of theme you want in your bedroom. Girls do love to be artistic and, you need to theme your room so that you can ensure that your personality is incorporated. Therefore, you need to ask the girl what she would prefer in this regard. A theme can be anything and, all you have to do is to make sure that you will be happy to see it every night.

Once you have considered this, you can then move on to the next factor. The other thing you need to consider is the decor in regard to the curtains, linen and other things. If you have any dressers that you are attached to, you can add them to become part of your decor. Girls tend to recycle things and this is usually very helpful as they turn old stuff into beautiful and attractive stuff. Girls like to include stuff like picture and magazines in the walls. For this reason you will have to look for all the pictures you like most and add them to the background. The other thing you need to consider is the storage. Girls have a lot of stuff and, it is no secret that the future will also mean lots of other stuff. If you do not want to find yourself always in a mess, you can consider the ways to ensure that you have plenty of space. Also, there are people who have space but never realize it.

Because of poor arrangement, you will not enjoy the room. If you plan to make your space a place or relaxation, you have to have a functional plan where you store your clothes, accessories and other things in an efficient manner. The other thing you can do is to make sure you change the look once in a while. This is because life is dynamic and at certain times, you need to feel a sense of progress. Different styles ensure that you always achieve this. Creating the bedroom of your dreams does not have to be an expensive affair. You can do much of the changes yourself. If you do not have a very good imagination, you can get inspiration from other bedrooms and you can view them online. There is so much to see and, you will not be disappointed about this. Go on and start the work of making your room a safe resting place that you actually like.

Francis K. Githinji Is An Online Dating Expert. Different colors evoke different memories and different ideas. In the bedroom, where one is supposed to be most at ease, it is important that you plan out your color scheme so that it creates the maximum comfort for you.

Psychologists have been studying the effects of color on people for many years. While they have made many discoveries about color effects on people in different societies, they have not found any effects that occur across all societies. For instance in China the color red tends to make people feel calm, while in America red tends to make people more aggressive. This means that the effect of color on a persons mind is individual and perceptual, rather then being physiological and inherent. In order to choose the right color for a setting, you will have to get in touch with your inner self, and see which color you harmonize best with. In the bedroom one tries to achieve maximum relaxation. By choosing the colors that you feel most comfortable with, you will find the greatest contentment with your decor.

Think about the following colors. Think about each one separately. Think about their different shades, how you feel about them, what they invoke in you.

Red. Orange. Yellow. Green. Blue. Violet. Purple. White. Black

Once you have gained insight into how you feel about those colors, you can read about the general effects these colors have on people in American society. Don’t be afraid to disagree, your tastes are different from anyone else’s, but do keep in mind that the average American that enters the room will feel these effects to some extent.

The two extreme colors are white and black. Black is an attention grabber, and can create a bedroom with a dark, sultry look. Unfortunately it will also make the room look smaller and seem more restrictive. Overuse of the color black can be dangerous in a room like the bedroom, as it can darken a person’s mood. It may even produce night mares. Meanwhile its polar opposite, white, can be uninspiring. Most rooms start off with white walls, and it is the generic look for many homes. It can have a positive and soothing effect on ones emotions, but it may also lead to a lack of stimulation which can be a terrible thing in a bedroom. Whatever ones perceptions however, white is a good color for warm climates. White reflects light creating cooler temperatures and a breezy feeling.

The earth tones are gentle and will keep a bedroom feeling close and snuggly, as long as you pay attention to the tones you use. These colors include browns, oranges, and yellows. Browns tend to remind Americans of family, and of emotional bonds to each other and the world. Orange is a color that makes people happy, but is also the color associated with food and could lead to midnight snacking. Yellow creates a very positive effect on people psychologically, but only short term. Long term exposure to this color can lead to irritation.

Blues and greens evoke serenity and peace. They are colors associated with nature and the ocean. Using these colors heavily in your bedroom can help to calm the emotions of its inhabitants, and bring restful nights. Blue will also calm cravings for food after you’ve gone to bed, because there is very little blue food in nature, so our minds tend to repress hunger at its site. Pink is the extreme claming color and many will find it impossible to act aggressively when surrounded by it. Purple is a nice color for a bedroom that will make it look more sophisticated.

Red is an exciting color. If you have trouble falling asleep, don’t use red in the bedroom. However, to get a tired relationship going, red may be just the color you want. Red makes Americans aggressive. It speeds up their metabolism and gives them energy. Red is a good color for sheets or blankets, because if it becomes too distracting it can be put away until desired.

Combining these colors yields further effects, which are numerous beyond the scope of this article. Remember that shade and tone is important, and will alter these effects. Most importantly, you should have the final say; it is the colors effect on your own mind that is important, and only you can truly understand your own impressions.

About the author:
Joey Lewitin is an author, artist, and designer of home décor accessories made from imported stone. They've got a great reputation for creating bedding that lasts, is easy to maintain and has superior attention to detail. And they are one of the very few companies that are actually licensed to make NASCAR bedding.

You could begin with the Checkered Flag sheet set made with a poly/cotton blend that's easy care for busy moms. The bold black and white checkered pattern featuring the NASCAR logo makes this a perfect place to build your kid's NASCAR bedding around. The snuggly comforter features fast, zooming race cars and checkered flags against a blue background and great attention to stitching and detailing.
Add the coordinating bed skirt, throw pillows, drapes, and maybe even a coordinating area rug to complete the look.

If Dale Earnhardt, Jr. is your child's favorite, you'll find other cool bed linen products that feature his famous Number 8 car. This set's got a reversible comforter in tan emblazoned with the Number 8 in bright red and Dale's name embroidered in black. The comforter must be dry cleaned but all the other bedding in this set is machine washable.
The sheets, pillow shams and bed skirt feature repeated prints of the number 8 and Dale's name against a white or tan background.

For the perfect finishing touch, you could also add a super soft NASCAR throw for the bed too- they're just right for grabbing to snuggle under while watching TV or just relaxing.

Don't stop there, you're just getting revved up!

You could add wallpaper borders to your kid's bedroom to pull all the accessories together. Choose from all the various drivers, NASCAR logos, checkered flags. You'll find NASCAR lamps, wheel pillows and even window treatments!

How about adding some flags, banners and posters? Add shelves to hold their precious little race cars.

Make sure that you're buying the real thing and not a cheap imitation. Simply look for the NASCAR licensed product label. Only NASCAR licensed products can carry this label and only licensed products can legally market the NASCAR driver's cars, names and images.

And because the prices are so affordable, there's no reason to settle for less than the genuine article!

About the author:
Patricia Bowlin makes it easy to create a bedroom with flair with the right bedding!
It can be difficult to determine a cost effective way to decorate a boy’s bedroom when you know that fads and tastes change quickly. When decorating a boy’s room, here are some tips that will help you spend your money more wisely. If you switch the décor in the entire room, you will find yourself spending a lot of money that will likely be short lived. With a few wise choices, you can spend less money and afford to change the room around more often.

Because fads change so quickly and what your child likes for their room today may be something they are tired of in a year’s time. By choosing a few quick changes that are inexpensive, it can afford you the ability to change decorations and themes more regularly. Children take pride in a bedroom that reflects their taste so will be more likely to keep it tidy when they enjoy spending time there.

Choose a neutral paint color and add wallpaper borders or decals. Adding a wallpaper border or decals makes it easy to redecorate your room inexpensively. By choosing a neutral color you can easily spend a minimum amount of money buying reposition able decals and wallpaper borders that can be put around the middle of the room at waist level or at the ceiling. This can allow you to change your child’s room around inexpensively and as often as a new fad strikes them with minimal effort required by you.

If your child is a sports fan, NFL lockers are a popular idea. NFL lockers can be bought and this is something that can decorate your child’s room from a young age right until they leave for college. An NFL locker can not only hold storage items such as clothing, jerseys and other sports equipment but also can hold books and pictures and display your child’s sports related trophies.

The NFL locker can display their favorite team with official logos and colors. The NFL locker is something that generally won’t go out of style for your child’s room. If your son is a sports enthusiast, he likely will be throughout his childhood. Fads with shorter phases such as cartoon characters or movie themed decorations tend to cost a lot and be out of fashion quickly. Sports themes can last much longer in terms of keeping your son’s interest.

When you want to change the room, buying a new bedding set that matches the color or the theme of the room and a similarly colored throw rug for the foot of their bed can be an inexpensive way to match colors. Storage is always a concern for children’s rooms that become filled with toys and books and videos so a storage solution is important to help them keep their room organized. Something like the NFL locker helps them keep the room organized and is something durable that is likely to last for years.

This article was written by Aiden Bigeon, to talk about choosing the right gift for decorating a boys bedroom. With this said, I would highly recommend visiting Taylor Gifts to find out more about a wide variety of gifts for boys.

Best information about Bedroom Ideas.

In a perfect world your master bedroom should be a haven in which you and your spouse can retreat from the world and enjoy each other. Unfortunately, the same type of clutter and dust that invades every other room in your house can spill over into your master bedroom.

One of the easiest ways to spiffy up your master bedroom on a daily basis is make the bed. It's a simple as that. If you aren't someone who routinely makes the bed you'll be amazed how much better a room will look and how quickly you'll be hooked. A great facelift for a bedroom is also a simple one, it's called a "bed in a bag". These sets come with comforters, coordinating sheets, pillow shams and bed skirts. If you have a visible bathroom attached to the master bedroom it's nice to carry your color theme through to the bathroom too.

Clear off the top of your dressers. As with all flat surfaces these will tend to gather papers too. If you don't have a home office where you keep bills and other important papers, get an organizer. A good way to organize bills and papers is in an accordion folder. They can be organized alphabetically or by month. Just get them off your dresser!

Now onto the vanity. It's time to part with what you really don't use. Bottles left sitting anywhere just become dust collectors and if you haven't used that perfume in the past two years, you probably aren't going to. You can pick up some small and nifty storage boxes and use one for lipstick, one for eye makeup, and one for foundation. It's a good time to go through all your make up and get rid of what's old.

If you don't already have one, get a laundry basket for your room. These can also be decorative items. Get those clothes up off the floor. Get a shoe rack for your closet and put your shoes in the closet when you change clothes after you get home from work. Shoes left lying around in a bedroom don't just look bad - they can be a health hazard. More than one person has hurt him or herself tripping over shoes on the way to the bathroom during the night.

Now that we've beautified the bed and are going to keep it made, cleared off the tops of the dressers and organized the papers. Picked up the shoes and dirty clothes from off the floor it's time to run the vacuum.

Now sit back, relax, and enjoy your master bedroom.

About the author:
This article courtesy of http://www.vac-buyers-guide.com

Best information about Bedroom Ideas.

When determining bedroom décor there are a couple of questions that you really need to ask yourself before you start going to the catalogs and running to the store to shop. This article will take a look at a couple of things that you need to consider next time you are taking on a bedroom décor project.

1. What Type of Thing Do You Have?

The very first thing to consider is whether or not sure going to use a certain scene in your bedroom décor. For example, will you be using a Western theme or a retro theme, or possibly you may even consider an ocean type theme for your bedroom décor.

2.Will this be a Spare Bedroom or Regularly Use Bedroom?

Once you have determined a theme for your bedroom décor - Then you can begin to consider colors and items that you're going to add to that bedroom. However before you begin this process, you also want to consider whether or not this is going to be a bedroom that is used regularly or is this just a spare guest bedroom.

3. You're Not Shooting for a Five-Star are You?

This may sound a bit strange, but when ever you are considering doing a spare bedroom or guest only bedroom decor you usually do not want to make this room too flashy or showy. You should choose a bedroom décor that is very simple and colorful to give your guests the filling of joy and welcome to your home, but not to the point that they feel like they are staying in a five-star hotel.

If you need more helpful Home Decor information try visiting http://home-decor-helper.com - a website that specializes in providing helpful home decor tips, advice, and resources to include Bedroom Decor.

Best information about Bedroom Ideas.

I love the decorative look of a ceiling fan as much as the next person, but there are things to consider when you put one in your house; especially the bedroom. Ceiling fans make wonderful decorating and utilitarian statements in a room. You can look at the fan and see how beautiful it matches the décor of the room, and then turn it on and realize how comfortable you can feel in the winter or summer. Ceiling fans will circulate the air anywhere at different speeds and look beautiful at the same time. Some fans have light kits that come with them, or you can install them another time. Other fans don’t have lights; they are just there to look great and circulate the air.

Ceiling fans come in every decorative style imaginable. You can even make your own to match the room you want to install it in. The one place I choose not to have a ceiling fan is the bedroom. All ceiling fans all have one thing in common and that is they have “blades”. When you hang a fan above something, metaphorically you are hanging spinning blades above that object; such as a table, bed, couch etc. It is usually a little disconcerting if you are sitting beneath blades spinning above your head, don’t you think? Have you ever tried to sleep under a moving ceiling fan? It could be the quietest fan in the world; but the spinning blades will always keep me awake. I don’t like to sit under one either. Logically, I’m sure ceiling fans are installed with great care and they won’t come crashing down, but they symbolize just the opposite. In Feng Shui, we look at things such as this and analyze how they make you “feel” energetically. I don’t mind ceiling fans if they are hung high from a cathedral ceiling. They are well out of the way and not right above the head. I do like the way they move the air, just as long as I don’t have to sleep under it.

In Feng Shui, we always look at things and how they represent other things. Metaphorically what are you trying to tell the Universe? There may be alternative ways to keep cool in the summer that don’t involve spinning blades above your head. Why not place portable air conditioners in the house? They are ideal when window air conditioners won’t fit, or you don’t have central air. You might just want to put a portable rotating fan a distance away from the bed. The positioning of items in rooms with Feng Shui (the Chinese art of placement) will determine if you have a good flow of energy in the room. Sit quietly in your bedroom and see how it “feels”. If your master bedroom is large enough that you don’t have to place the bed directly under the ceiling fan; then you are ok with the aesthetics of having it in the room. You can use it to feel cooler to your hearts content.
Did you ever wish your bedroom was bigger or smaller? Well if you don’t have enough money to change the actual size of the room, then you can use paint to make the bedroom seem bigger or smaller.

Paint is well known as one of the least expensive and easiest ways to change the look of any room, but if you pick your colors carefully you can give the space a new feel as well as a new look. Certain colors can make your bedroom walls feel closer or farther away.

If you have a small bedroom and you want it to feel more spacious, then consider painting the walls a receding color. These are the blue – green – purpleish colors and any combination thereof. Look at a basic color wheel – you’ll see that those colors are all next to each other on one side. You probably want to avoid the darkest of these combinations, however as painting a room in very dark tones can make it look smaller overall.

If you want to make a large bedroom feel more cozy, then paint the walls advancing colors. These are the colors on the other side of the color wheel – the reds, oranges and yellow. Bright warm colors will close in the space and make the room seem cheerful and cozy. Also if you have a large cavernous room with a very high ceiling, consider painting the ceiling a medium or dark color which will make bring the appearance back down to a normal height.

When painting your bedroom, make sure you buy enough paint to do the job! Consider how many coats you will need. A dark color may need several coats. IF you are trying to paint a light color over a dark, you may need to use some primer and also a couple of coats. 1 gallon of paint can do about 400 square feet so keep this in mind. To measure your room, go around the edge of all the walls with a measuring tape and record the total width. Measure the height from floor to ceiling and multiply by total width to get the square footage. Measure all the doors and window opening and subtract this from the total square footage (or not, it’s always a good idea to have a little extra paint then not enough!).

Don’t forget to protect your wood moldings with painters tape, remove all the covers from the electrical outlets and plugs and cover the floor and furniture with drop cloths!

About the author:
Lee Dobbins is owner and editor of Bedroom Designs And Decorations where you can learn more about bedroom colors and decorating schemes.

Best information about Bedroom Ideas.

When your kid gets to be a teenager, that little kids furniture and bedroom décor just won’t do. Your teen wants a cool new look, and here’s how you can get it.

First of all, don’t toss out that old bedroom furniture yet. Unless the furniture is totally banged up and broken, you may be able to give it a cool new look with some paint and new knobs. Before you start on that, however, you need to figure out the theme of your teen bedroom design.

Todays hot new looks are centered around retro, modern or “cool” designs. Teens actually have pretty good design sense (probably from watching so much TV!) and you can design a really neat room just by adding some new accents. Of course, your teen may need a new desk to do their home work at if the old one no longer works but you can give the old furniture a new look as mentioned above.

Luckily, you don’t have to spend a lot on accents for your teenagers room. Most of the discount department stores like Target offer hip furnishings and accents at discount prices. You can buy inexpensive shelves, or build them yourself, and use it for them to put all their stuff that might normally be thrown on the floor. This will help the room look neat and reduce the clutter.

You can give your teens bedroom a fun but sophisticated look by painting the room in a "cool" color like chocolate, sage or purple and using accents to as focal points. A flokati or rag rug will lend a sophisticated air and you can even put the down as area rugs on top of wall to wall carpeting to give the floor a whole new look. Replace the kids ruffled or theme curtains with tab topped curtains in a denim or canvas for a more adult look.

Bedding for you teen can be plain, or funky - whatever goes with the room. Depending on your teens taste, a neutral colored bed set with nicely textured fabrics like silks or a velvet duvet can add interest with out being too flashy. Or if you want to make the bed a focal point, how about an animal print set or something in bright colors like hot pink and orange?

Accents are where you add interest and give the room personality. Some fun accents include chairs shaped like a giant shoe, faux fur covered lamps in wild colors, bean bag chairs of all types, phones in all shapes and sizes, funky accent pillows, rugs and wall art.

Lee Dobbins writes for Bedroom Designs where you can learn more about bedroom design themes.

Best information about Bedroom Ideas.

Whether it’s bunk beds for the little kids, bedspreads or trundle beds, it’s best to choose beds that fit in with the style and décor of the rest of your house. However, comfort in beds is still the most important ingredient when selecting a bed.

Four poster beds, metal beds, children’s beds and adjustable beds can all be purchased over the internet today. There are literally thousands and thousands of varieties, colors and designs to choose from.

Adorning the interior of a building or home bedroom means selecting quality furniture. Asian and classical cultures used the decorative arts to create elaborate interiors, and they originated forms extensively copied in later times. How you furnish your home and how you decorate its various rooms are all a reflection on your individual style and tastes.

You’ll want your selections to show your interests and values. A home is more than a place to hang your hat, it’s where you live and entertain others. Choosing quality, sturdy furniture from reputable manufacturers that looks great and is fairly priced will insure that your home is both inviting and comfortable when you have family and friends over to visit with you.

About the author:
Mike Yeager
Author/Publisher
http://www.a1-furniture-4u.com/

Best information about Bedroom Ideas.

You will find that you can dramatically change the look of your room simply by making small changes with the accents. See how easy it is to get a designer beach theme look in your bedroom without shelling out the big bucks.

If you’re not sure exactly what you want in your beach desing, try looking in decorating magazines and books to get a flavor of the accessories you would like to see in your bedroom. For keeping the beach look consistent, you’ll have to limit yourself to only purchase the accessories that match your theme.

Colors for a beach décor should make you think of the beach. Light and breezy with lots of blues and maybe even some yellows. If you prefer neutral tones think of the beige of beach sand and the color of shells.

Incorporate sea shells, ocean prints, and other seaside accents that will help bring out the beach in your bedroom. You should group your accessories in odd numbers. It always looks nice if your groupings consists of tall and short accessories mixed together. An interesting group of accents might consists of some shells aside a nice beach theme frame and a taller lamp.

Use beach theme prints and photos on your walls to establish the theme throughout your bedroom. Many people do not know how to correctly hang a piece of art and this makes a big difference to the visual appeal. Whether you are hanging a large oil painting or a small print, the middle of the piece should be at eye level. If you have a large piece of artwork you can try using it as a headboard. When hanging prints or photos behind a table, always place them 7 to 10 inches above the table. Hang pictures in circular, triangular, or rectangular geometric groupings to add interest.

When accessorizing your bedroom don’t forget about the lighting. When purchasing lamps make sure to buy ones that go with the beach theme you want to create. For beach style lighting try using clear glass lamps filled with shells or figural light house shaped lamps.

Area rugs can define a space and pull your bedroom together. Rest furniture completely on the rug for a warmer effect. Only use rugs that go with your beach accessories.

Using pillows can add interest as well. Use several at the top of the bed and vary the texture colors and patterns while still keeping the color and theme within your overall bedroom design.

Don’t think you have to buy everything for your bedroom at once. Shop around to find the perfect accessories to match the beach theme in your bedroom. You can find bargains at consignment stores flea markets and yard sales.

About the author:
Lee Dobbins writes for http://www.bedroom-designs-and-decorations.com/ where you can find out more about decorating your bedroom.

Do you have an attic in your house? Lucky You! You can decorate your attic however you like and create your own favorite corner in the house, or even an extra place for your children or your guests. Depending on your attics’ space and on your own personal taste, you can finally have an attic that fulfils your needs.

Need an extra bedroom? The attic can turn into a beautiful private bedroom for a friend that stays the night, a visiting couple, or a relative from out of town. Use light shades and soft fabric materials; you don’t want your guest to get tired and dizzy from the lively colors. Instead, create a pleasant, romantic atmosphere. You will need a single or, if there is enough space, a double bed, a small closet with drawers and one or two small bedside tables. A big, elegantly shaped mirror will add several points and will make the room seem spacious. If the room is already spacious enough, you can place a bedroom chair facing the window. Add a dreamcatcher or a wind chime and enjoy the results!

How about a playroom for your children? They would love to have their own, “No Moms Allowed!” space for their toys, their games and their imagination. You will need a soft, warm carpet to keep the room cozy during wintertime. Don’t carpet the corners though, as you will need some room to swap out for a lighter, cooler carpet for the summer days. You will also need large pillows or soft inflatable chairs. When opting for a playroom, use lively colors that will keep the children excited and happy. This room could have a small TV and DVD play set, videogames, board games, many toys, and puzzles, whatever a kid needs! Don’t place sporting material such as bouncers, trampolines and swings because the roof is too low in attics and the children might get hurt while playing.

Are you an artist? Even if the answer is no, an attic can make you one! Make your own inspirational studio. Don’t use a carpet this time. Color and material chips will stain it. If you are a painter, equip your studio with painting knives, palettes, art pencils, drawing sticks, charcoal, paints, brushes and canvas, paper blocks and rolls. If you are a craftsman you can create a wood art studio. Equip it with a large working table, hole cutting templates, curving tools. Place furniture with shelves in the corner to place and admire your artwork.

An attic can be your gym! You’ll need adequate ventilation in there, or a large window. Dress the room with a soft carpet and buy your gym equipment. Don’t buy large fitness equipment. Prefer many smaller ones, or a few multi training machines. You can also have light exercise tools like fitness balls, tummy trimmers, weight sets, yoga mats. A small refrigerator filled with bottled water or energy drinks is necessary for the attic gym room so that you won’t need to run downstairs every time you get thirsty. A mini stereo will enhance your exercise with power music.
There is no limit to your imagination about the potential use of your attic space. Sure, it comes in handy as a storage place, but what moments of joy can you invest in a storage place? With creativity and a little money, the attic can be your favorite room.

About the author:
From Just an Attic… to Your Favorite Room! Whether you have a girl or boy, teenagers are busy exploring their own way in the world. They are trying out different things and figuring out what works for them and what doesn't. They are also asserting their independence. What better way for them to do that than to take part in designing the room that they'll be spending a lot of time in as they complete their school years and prepare for what is ahead.

If you have a girl, chances are she's outgrown the pink or lavender colors that most likely graced her room as a young child. She's testing the waters and picking out what she likes. At this point, she probably does have a favorite color and this would be a good place to start. If you start with her favorite color and then look to the things that she's interested in when considering wall art or accessories for her room, this will bring the room together nicely. For example, if yellow is her favorite color and she's really interested in music, start with yellow paint for her walls. Choose a shade with her so that she feels she's a part of the process and that her opinion matters. When the room is painted, look for items to add to her walls that enhance her tastes. Perhaps a large musical note can be displayed on the wall or some wallpaper border with musical notes displayed throughout to line the tops of the walls.

Similarly, a boy should be given the same type of consideration as a girl when choosing the decor for his room. However, it may be a little more difficult to get him involved in the whole process, yet if you ask him to own the process by being a part of all of it; the painting and wallpapering, as well as the shopping and decorating, more willingness may evolve. Again, start with his favorite color, then take him with to choose the paint from the hardware store. When it comes time to paint his walls, ask him to help. Take him back to the store to choose the items that will be purely decorative. If he's into model boats or trains, ask him to build a few to later hang with fish line from his ceiling. Adding the feel of ownership over the project will help your young man jump in with two feet and you'll end with a room that you can both be happy about.

A blissful teenager may not result from these events, yet they won't be moody over their bedroom. It will be an area that they will enjoy being in and that will help when they need to concentrate on a school project or something along those lines. Best of all, they will have taken at least some part in the creation of the room, so they will be excited about it when it's done. Never pass up the chance to have a happy teenager, even when it means entering into a teen bedroom design project with them.

Lee Dobbins writes about home decorating tips Visit http://www.look4decor.com where you can read more of her decorating and design articles.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Lee_Dobbins

Best information about Bedroom Ideas.

Putting the right comforter on your bed can make the whole bedroom look fabulous. Comforters are the most visible of all the bedding pieces, so when you change the comforter you make a large change in the decor of the bedroom itself. But comforters are also very functional as they make for a very warm, and soft bed to sleep in too. But getting the right comforter for your bed takes some thought and preparation, and this article will help you make the right decision when you buy.

The first factor in choosing the right comforter is to make sure that it actually fits your bed. This may sound like a simple thing, but not all mattresses are the same size because of their design. If you have a very standard mattress it will most likely fit into one of the conventional categories like "Full", Queen", or "King".

But many mattresses these days are not standard sizes because mattress makers have gone to adding more features like pillow tops on one side or sometimes both sides of the mattress. This means that the mattress is now much thicker than it would normally be. And that will also affect the size of any bedding that you are now able to put on that bed. That's why it's always a good idea to measure your bed and mattress to make sure that you know what size comforter to get beforehand and won't have to be faced with the prospect of having to return the bedding that you love when you find that it just doesn't look right on your bed.

When considering a comforter look at the TPI or threads per inch too. This figure will often give you a good idea of the quality level that has been put into that comforter. Generally speaking thread counts above 250 produce a soft and comfortable feel and fabric that will last a long time. Try to avoid thread counts below 200.

It's also not a bad idea to look for a comforter that has patterns on both sides. That way you can change the look of the bed from time to time and not just have the same pattern all the time.

If you are in the market for a down comforter, the most expensive kinds will have pure white down in them, but actually a mixture of down and feathers will do the job nicely and is not as expensive. Just avoid so-called down comforters that have a really low ratio of down to feathers. The higher the down ratio in the comforter the more important that the cover be what is called "down proof" because down is so small and can actually work its way through a normal cover. Usually this designation is listed on the comforter package.

Finally, be sure that a down comforter is stitched so that the insulation material cannot move about very freely or shift. If the stitching is not in place the down can shift so that some parts of the comforter do not even offer much insulation at all.

Want to spice up your bedroom to let some romance in?

Decorating your bedroom for romance doesn't even have to be difficult or expensive. You can really let your creativity run wild here.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that you want to soothe all of the senses to both take away other distractions and relax completely. This should be your oasis, your refuge to reconnect and enjoy your partner's company.

A great place to start is lighting. Get rid of the glare, and you're well on the way to more romance!

Candles, candles and more candles can bring a lot of romance into the bedroom for a pretty small investment. Candles, both large and small, tapered, pillar or votives all generate a warm, inviting, flickering light to the room. Group them together in several areas of the room for the best effect.

Adding a dimmer switch to lighting can also be quite effective in designing bedrooms for romance- and cost very little as long as you can install it yourself. It isn't as difficult as you might think!

Placing mirrors to reflect your softened light will add more depth to your bedroom.

Window dressings that are plush and appealing should darken the room and prevent lights from traffic or other external noise from interrupting the romantic mood you are creating. The window treatment can match or contrast the bedding and often can be found as an accessory to the bedding set you select. Draperies that billow and flow can add a touch of romance to the bedroom as well.

The bed, of course, is the focal point of the bedroom in most cases, and the bedding you select for romance can set just the perfect mood.

Many people think of silk and satin when thinking of romantic bedding. Both silk and satin can be costly and a bit slippery on the bed. The good news is that the same luxurious effect and feel can be created with 100% cotton sateen sheets if you don't want the added expense of genuine satin or silk linens.

Choose bedding for your romantic bedroom that centers on relaxing, romantic colors. Avoid using too much grey, yellow or pink. Red, black, white, blue and green is very popular. Newer colors like pearl, bronze and even gold can really create the feeling of luxury and are quite romantic.

Remember that all of your senses should be involved for the perfect touch of romance- so adding interesting texture for bedding can be another opportunity to bring out romance. Velvet, faux fur and velour are rich, soft to the touch fabrics that can be used for comforters, blankets and throw pillows.

Peacock Alley is one of the most well-known luxury bedding maker.

They offer an especially warm, romantic bed linen set called the Marrakech Ebony. It features shades of green, gold and ebony in prints reminiscent of the African plains and looks especially romantic when highlighted by candlelight. 55% linen and 45% rayon create luxurious sheets which are easy to care for.

The Vienna Ensemble from Peacock Alley is 100% Egyptian cotton in white on white featuring eyelet lace. Euro sham, coverlet, boudoir pillows add wonderful interesting detail to the bedding which brings back the romantic 1800s.

And if you'd prefer to keep your expenses down abit, then you could go for the shabby chic approach, which means focusing on your own sense of style, mixing just about any romantic touches into the bedroom- as long as the overall result is soothing and relaxing. You don't have to follow anyone else's idea of romance. Just be creative!

If you really want to go all out, you could add a canopy to your bed. You can easily create the same effect of a canopy bed with about 10 yards of material like linen, silk or satin and four hooks placed in the ceiling. Simply drape the cloth so that it billows and flows to just above the bed linens. This touch will enhance any spacious bedroom and can provide a bedroom with low ceilings a more spacious feel.

Finish your new romantic bedroom with a bit of soft music, maybe some potpourri and some fine chocolates and champagne, and there you have it!

You can live in a bedroom that surrounds you with romance every night if you wish. Simply bring together your own creation of romantic touches and enjoy.

About the author:
Patricia Bowlin is a successful author who loves to share hundreds of useful tips and advice galore on how to pick all the best of your family's bedding- from comforters, blankets, pillows and bed linen!

Any interior space is composed of some primary architectural elements such as walls, floor and ceiling. Depending upon the type of structural framework, the construction method would change.

We always see experience and perceive any interior space in elevation. This means that walls are the first things of any structure that create an impact on our mind. The quality and volume formed because of the walls define an architectural structure.

When we enter a building, what we primarily and dominantly perceive are walls. Let's see how walls can be used as an excellent element in a bedroom design project.

1) Exposed Brick walls.

In order to use these kind of walls it is necessary to preplan the interior design schedule. Normally if a brick wall is to be kept exposed (without plaster), it is built with high quality bricks which are machine cut for high quality and accuracy.

Since bricks have their own color and texture, this option can be used to create a color contrast by keeping only one wall exposed and other with a contrasting color. This can add some interest in the bedroom.

2) Exposed plaster walls.

An exposed plaster wall is a wall which has not been painted.

These kind of walls are very rarely used in interiors. Since the plaster is a composite material using appropriate qualities of cement, sand and aggregate, the final material has a dull color. A dull color on a space like bedroom would express
a kind of depression, hence is not recommended.

But portions of a wall with preplanned design and sketching can be used in association with exposed brick wall. Design pattern with partly colored and partly exposed plaster can be a good idea.

Or a completely exposed plaster wall with a design patter in grooves can be used effectively.

3) Wall with tile cladding.

Tile cladding is what we see in kitchen above the cooking platform. Tile cladding is also used in bathrooms and toilets. These are normally ceramic tiles.

In a bedroom interesting patterns can be created to fake the exposed brick wall mentioned above. Many excellent patters can be used just like a jigsaw puzzle.

4) Paint on walls.

The word painting has two meanings here.

a) A wall with plane colors applied to it. This is done above the plastered surface of the wall. Two or three coats of the desired shade of the color and base material are applied.

b)Secondly, instead of using plane colors, the entire wall can be used as a "canvas" to paint a story or mural. This is a very good method to paint children bedrooms. Walls can be used as a storyboard to create interest.

5) Wallpapers.

Applying a wallpaper is an excellent way to quickly change the look and feel of the bedroom. Depending upon the "theme" of the room many wallpaper patterns are available.

Wallpapers are very good in large bedrooms. In large bedroom "emptiness" is a big problem. If there are not enough decorating elements available, a room might look empty. Here wallpapers can serve as fillers and quickly add some interest in the room.

6)Textured plaster walls.

These kind of walls need special techniques to create a textured pattern on walls. Once a texture is applied any shade of paint can be used.

One of the great thing about these walls is, when sunlight falls on them, a very interesting play of light and shadows gets created. Because of the undulations in the surface of the plaster, small shadows form on the surface of the wall, giving it a visual quality.

A wall in the bedroom which receives direct sunlight should be chosen for this purpose.

This article shows you how various options to the existing wall finishes are possible, that can enhance the quality of the bedroom interior space.

About the author:
Shrinivas Vaidya is the webmaster of Bedroom-Design-And-Decorating-Ideas.com .Here you will find some great concept level design tips for master bedrooms, teen bedrooms and bedroom sets.

Best information about Bedroom Ideas.

Besides the kitchen, interior bedroom design is the most popular room to design in the family home. The bedroom should be cozy and restful in its appearance. Bright colors are not recommended because they are not calming. Colors best suited for bedrooms are warm and neutral colors.

To start your interior bedroom design plan you should choose the fabrics first along with the base wall color. One the fabric and color is selected then you can select the furniture that matches. For wall coverings, you do not need to purchase expensive artwork. If you or someone you know is a photographer then choose some unique photos to cover the walls. If you or someone you know is an artist then maybe you can hang some of their artwork in a nice frame. Now you will have wall hangings that no one else will have.

When doing your interior bedroom design the flooring in bedrooms should never be tile, marble or granite. Use wood or carpet for bedrooms, you do not want an ice-cold floor in the morning. Carpet would be the warmest but wood is also a popular choice for bedroom flooring. To avoid clutter in the bedroom try extra cabinets or storage spaces in the bedroom. If the closet is big enough, put some extra storage or shelving in the closet.

Another tip for interior bedroom design is to choose the same color and fabric for the bedcovers and curtains. Many people like to have very dark curtains to keep out the morning sunlight. An alternative to dark curtains against light colored walls would be to have two layers of lighter colored curtains instead of one dark colored curtain. If the bedroom is a small room, consider using mirrors on the walls to give the appearance of a larger room.

Lighting options for interior bedroom design include the usual light in the center of the ceiling. Additional lighting includes lampshades and even pin lights to create different patterns of light. Remember that you spend about a third of your life in the bedroom, therefore it is your private personal space so the room should be the most relaxing room in your home. You also must have a good mattress and pillows to go along with the relaxing atmosphere of the room.

I hope that you will have created a room plan and followed it. Placement of the bedroom furniture is the main reason for creating a plan. If more than one person uses the room, then access to the double bed is required for both people. Thus, it should not be placed in a corner of the room.

If the interior bedroom design requires that electronic devices such as a television need a stand and access to wall sockets then your plan must consider this. I hope that this will put you on the path to a successful bedroom interior design.

Would you like to take an online course in interior design?
It is an art that most women have imbibed in them. Home Improvement increases the worth of the family residing in it. Also By maintaining it and improving it, you’ll ensure it continues to increase in value.

Maintaining Your Home
Taking regular care of your appliances and checking plumbing and heating/cooling systems regularly can save on costly repairs or even more costly replacements. Review your home inspector’s report to help you prioritize tasks. It is worthwhile to consult a professional for anything you have a hard time fixing or inspecting. Some professionals may charge a fee.

Cosmetic Changes vs. remodeling
you have visions of color and comfort. The back porch could use a fresh coat of paint. The kitchen cabinets need to be updated. When do cosmetic changes (paint, window treatments) turn into major remodeling and renovation projects?
To keep the cost of remodeling from increasing dramatically it’s best to set a budget first and work to maximize the features you want within that budget. This may also help set the limit between cosmetic and major improvements.

Many homeowners believe that any improvement will automatically increase the value of their property. Appraisers offer a more cautious perspective.. In other words, if you live on a street of modest two- and three-bedroom bungalows, don’t turn your home into a six-bedroom mansion.

Cosmetic changes such as new paint, flooring and window treatments are considered matters of personal style and therefore, add the least amount of value to a home.
Your home is your greatest financial asset. Take proper care of it and most likely, it will do the same for you.

Planning takes time and includes lots of mundane tasks such as getting permits and financing. But the benefits are immeasurable both in time and money saved.
Individual plans will vary depending on the scope of the project. Steps overlap and sometimes changing in one aspect of your plan forces changes in others. But almost every plan will include at least these five steps.

1. Dream It
Make sure your concept for the addition blends with the existing houses materials and design. For example: Adding on a Cape Cod family room to a 50s ranch style home would look silly at best.

Do a quick sketch of the addition you're planning even before consulting with a builder or designer.

2. Design It
If your plans require the removal or alteration of a supporting wall, contact a building engineer or architect to learn if your idea will affect the strength of the existing structure. Major structural changes may increase the time and cost of your project. A consultation may provide you with alternatives.

3. Paying for It
Establish a budget for this project and determine where the money is coming from. The money available will impact the scope of the project.

Remember that anything not included in the original contract will cost extra. It's tempting to start making changes and expanding the original plan. Try to control yourself or you might be adding hundreds, maybe thousands, of dollars that will shatter your budget and your time line.

4. Permits and Codes
If you've hired a local contractor or architect, he should be able to tell you if your idea will pass the building inspection. A professional should be able to handle the entire permit process, from drawing up plans, applying for the permit and scheduling inspections.

If you're doing it yourself, visit your planning department and research the codes that pertain to your project. If the agency requires certified plans, you may still have to consult with an architect or engineer who can provide them.

5. Timing
Establish a time frame for the project. Much of an addition is exterior work and will need to be accomplished according to the seasons. Your start date should be the date you actually beginning construction, so make sure your financing is in place before this date.

Your time frame needs to take into account who is doing the work. If this is a do-it-yourself project, your time will probably be more limited because of job and family. If the job takes eight full days to complete, and you can only work weekends, it will take you four weeks. Consider if the money saved by doing it yourself is worth the extra time.

About the author:
For more information on Home Improvement please visit the Home Improvement resource center at http://www.home-inprovement-guide.info

Best information about Bedroom Ideas.

Modern bedding isn't just beautiful- it can also be very practical, extremely durable and quite affordable. Even luxury bedding for the modern bedroom doesn't have to break your bank account.

Our busy lives today mean there is little time to spend in traditional homemaking. Modern bedding has to fit into our modern lifestyles and provide for easy care as well as comfort. After a long day at the office, no one wants to come home and sleep on scratchy bedding. On those precious days off work, no one wants to spend all their time doing laundry and ironing pillow cases so that they have no wrinkles. With today's modern fabrics, whether it's 100% Egyptian cotton, or blends, it's just not necessary to spend lots of time spend caring for your bedding. Of course, doing laundry does take time, but you shouldn't need to spend any extra time making bedding for the modern bed look nice.

One of the most popular ways to make your bedding modern is to choose Dwell. The Dwell line was created by its designer and founder, Christine Lemieux, in 1999 because she felt there simply were too few modern, colorful, beautiful graphics and other designs in quality bedding for the modern home.

She designs bedding using very bright colors such as lime, butter yellow, chocolate, charcoal and ocean blue to create patterns like trellis, awning stripes featuring broad, bold striping, thin stripe which uses various widths of striping to create outstanding bedding patterns and dot or cube. Along with these bold graphic patterns, solid sheets and border sheets allow mix and match to create a very modern look for the bedroom.

An absolutely fabulous choice in luxury bedding for the modern room comes from Amenity. Using 400 thread count 100% cotton to create the duvet and pillow shams, the Twig design in bright blue peacock or cocoa, uses a solid background to highlight the large graphic of a tree.

Drift is another great design which features a graphic of a dandelion head against the tan or cocoa background. The Amenity Leaf design places large leaves on the solid background colors. The pillow shams for each of these selections are solid in the same color as the background of the duvet. Very modern in appearance, these bedding choices make the modern bedroom's focal point the bed. This gives a clean, uncluttered look to the bedroom by focusing attention on the bedding with these bold, modern looks.

Nygard International Home Bedding has a very modern appearance that is so modern it is almost retro!

The Coco bedding from Nygard uses "urban suede" which is a type of faux suede in large square of cocoa and black to create a great bedding set. The faux suede is created of 97% cotton and 3% spandex resulting in fabric that is soft, plush and the best part is that it is machine washable! The large blocks of color break the bed into quarters and the tailored styling make a bold, modern statement. This top quality bedding is extremely affordable- the prices are much lower than you would expect for material that looks just like suede.

Western Bedding has created an outstanding modern set of bedding that has a very Zen element.

Using black and white in tailored designs, Western Bedding has created a very striking bedding set. The comforter, created from 50% cotton and 50% polyester has solid black jacquard on one side and the reverse is a black and white graphic print. The geometric jacquard weave provides a sense of texture and is repeated in the bed skirt. The pillow shams are crisply tailored and feature cording details. The sheets and pillow cases are 220 thread count 100% cotton percale in bright white with a black twist cord detail. Add decorative pillows with engineer-sharp geometric appliqu‚s and buttons to complete the ensemble.

When decorating with modern style bedding, especially with bold colors and geometrics, it is very important to keep a modern, uncluttered look in the bedroom. Avoid mixing modern linens with antique furnishings- the effect will simply not look attractive. Keep your other items organized and mostly out of site as well to keep with the theme.

Platform beds and waterbeds lend themselves perfectly to modern choices in bedding. If you select a two-color geometric for your bedding, choose modern accessories in those same colors, but also add a few carefully selected accents in another bold, bright color.

For example, if you select Western Bedding's black and white modern ensemble, consider adding a red throw pillow and a red lamp to your modern black and white bedroom. The effect will be absolutely stunning!

The result of having a modern bedroom will be an inviting but crisp, clean bedroom that has you feeling more organized and on top of the world!

About the author:
Patricia Bowlin makes it easy to create a bedroom with flair! You’ll find that your own personality will shine through as you choose the best furniture, tables, lamps and rugs for your home.

Adorning the interior of a building or home means selecting quality furniture. Asian and classical cultures used the decorative arts to create elaborate interiors, and they originated forms extensively copied in later times. In Europe during the early medieval period few notable interiors were created except in Islamic Spain and in the Byzantine Empire. Simple movable and hanging objects were the chief furnishings of castles. In the late Middle Ages artistic resources were dedicated to the embellishment of churches and public buildings.

With more settled conditions, Renaissance Italy, influenced by Greek and Roman styles, developed interiors of grandeur and magnificence; popes and nobles employed leading artists to decorate their palaces and villas.

For your home select from only the best furniture representatives who offer quality, elegance, quick delivery and, of course, great prices!

About the author:
Mike Yeager
Author/Publisher
http://www.a1-furniture-4u.com/

Best information about Bedroom Ideas.

If you like the warm cozy feeling of country decor, then you'll love having your master suite decorated in this easy to live with style. Country style decorating themes are timeless and look great all year long. When decorating a bedroom and bathroom suite, you want to be sure to keep some similar elements in the two rooms to keep the flow between spaces. You might choose to use the same flooring or wall coverings and similar accessories for a great cohesive look.

Window treatments are important to your country style home decor style. There are a variety of window coverings that go with this theme, especially if you match other fabrics or colors in the room, but you want to avoid contemporary style prints. To see a wonderful look in your bedroom you should try using plain sheer curtains or print or plaid drapes. You can use the same window treatments in the bathroom or go with something similar but a bit different. It's not necessary to have a matching bed, bureaus, and side table but the bedroom should have plenty of overstuffed upholstered furniture. In the bath, you don't need to have matching hamper, scale, and linen rack but the bathroom accessories should have a country feel. To really compliment the country design style, try using pieces with pine stain or a painted finish. Accessories are necessary to pulling your country style bedroom decor theme together. Even if you can't change anything else in the room - you can get a new look by changing the decorative accessories! Concentrate on buying bedding, pillows and vases and picture frames, in patterns and colors complimentary to your country design style. You'll be amazed at how simple and economical it is, and what a huge difference these changes make! You want to be sure to add in a variety of vintage country pieces as well as handmade bowls, baskets or boxes and you ought to even try some interesting tins and other brick a brack to really give a great look to your bedroom. Extra touches such as old fashioned signs in either wood or tin can make your room appear like it was done by a designer. One important aspect of decorating your bedroom suite with a country style is your wall paper or paint. For this decorating style the room colors make a big difference - try having blues and reds and greens in the room. Try using a paint with wallpaper borders on the walls, or if you want something different go with a matching wallpaper and border set. It doesn't need to cost a lot and if you are afraid of too much color, simply paint the walls a neutral shade and let the accents in the room do the decorating. The floor covering can make or break your decor, but if it's too much work to put new floors then work with your floors by covering them with area rugs that have a country design. If new floors are in your budget, try hardwood floors and use braided rugs to soften them up. Accurate lighting is necessary in most rooms and your bedroom suite is no exception. To compliment your country style home decor design, you might want to think about the style of light fixtures together with the type. Most bedrooms can use a chandelier as well as lamps. While you will be trying to get a country interior design, consider plain overhead lighting with table lamps but stay away from anything which is too fancy with lots of sparkly crystals. In the bathroom you will want to have good vanity lighting and also consider recessed lighting there too.

Finally, don't forget about decorating your wall space. You can make even the plainest walls look fabulous by incorporating beautiful paintings and wall art. Try hanging folk art paintings, stencils or a hand painted mural to your bedroom walls to really bring out the charm of your country Interior Design. Don't be afraid to hang cute vintage prints and even old country tools and such. In the bathroom a collection of old washboards can really add some interest!

Lee Dobbins writes for http://www.bedroom-designs-and-decorations.com where you can get more tips on decorating and accessories for the bedroom.

Best information about Bedroom Ideas.
