Rear seats folded flat, that figure increases to a more useable 47.3 cubic-feet.

7 Vote(s)

ALTHOUGH BMW WON T be bringing the admirably powerful diesel-powered 740d Australia s way, the German automaker s local arm will still be rolling out a number of new diesel models in the near future. Chief among these is the new 330d sedan, which shares its 3.0 litre twin-turbo diesel powerplant with the just-launched 730d . Generating a healthy 180kW and a sizable 540Nm of torque, the diesel-drinking engine isn t just a grunty, economical piece of equipment - it s genuinely powerful too. The 330d arrives here next month, but BMW Australia s diesel plans don t stop there.В A super-frugal 118d (above) is currently under consideration, as are diesel variants of the 3 Series coupe and convertible.

6 Vote(s)

See all the latest BMW reviews, news and video A raft of clever “active” aerodynamics features are heading for the M5 to make it more slippery. BMW believes a 10 per cent reduction in drag reduces fuel consumption by 2.5 per cent, and the 2011 M5 could get flaps that open and close on its body to alter air flow. The wheelbase is expected to be 10mm longer but despite the larger dimensions BMW wants the same weight as the current M5’s 1830 kg. BMW denies giving the car a four-door coupe shape but it has smooth, flowing roofline that extends far back along the car.

5 Vote(s)

See all the BMW X1 reviews and news Read our BMW X1 prototype first drive This is also backed up in the X1’s estate car-like styling. It eschews the upright, rugged look of traditional SUVs for a relatively low and rakish profile that carries elements of the German car maker’s latest design lineage.
Our detour was a great way to break up what otherwise would have been the pure drudgery of a 75-mph freeway cruise." Sadly, once it was back in Ann Arbor, our BMW 750Li made contact with a support pylon in the parking garage and suffered damage to the right-rear door and quarter panel. We are in the process of getting the car repaired, but it will likely be out of service for several days while the body shop makes it pretty again. ...next page >>

5 Vote(s)

In its response to the complaints, BMW said that it believed the ad to be fully compliant with the Code of Practice, and that it was clearly a work of fantasy - not petrol-headed impulse. We believe our TV and Online commercial fully comply with the FCAI Voluntary Code of Practice for Motor Vehicle Advertising and can be clearly distinguished by the viewer as an artistic performance and not reality, said BMW s official response to the complaints. The performance takes place in a controlled environment (a studio warehouse) which is clearly shown at the beginning of the TVC. The car drives across the canvas creating patterns with paint вЂ" it does not suggest a real-life driving situation.

5 Vote(s)

The clip, which has been used around the world, was made by artist Robin Rhode and famed film director Ridley Scott's son, Jake.
There are talks that the Bmw M5 will be coming with a new twin-turbocharged V10 power unit in step with the Audi RS6. The new powerplant is said to be an improvement from the company’s 564bhp 4.4L twin-turbo which will drive the forthcoming X5 M and X6 M vehicles. It is capable of more than 600bhp and is possibly going to be couple with an F1-inspired KERS system, thus enabling the user to bump performance with just a press of a button.

7 Vote(s)

However, Goosen's 132-stroke total, which was completed before lunch, came under increasing pressure later in the day.
Lights Out: Guerilla Drive-In uses BMW sidecar motorcycle to host secret movie screenings by Dan Roth on Jun 26th 2009 at 8:58AM Che Guevarra 's image has been transformed by the very capitalism he railed against into something non-threatening enough that the totem has been given a pair of 3-D spectacles and serves as a logo for a rebel band of film enthusiasts. Meet the Guerilla Drive-In. In sharp contrast to what the retail-industrial complex tries to sell us, there are those that prefer the more organic charms of a beaten, scratched, oft-repaired and aged release print of a movie, ratty-sounding optical audio tracks and all.

7 Vote(s)

The new BMW 740d heralds the latest technological leap for the 7 Series, taking diesel performance in a luxury car to a new level. Powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine that produces 306hp, the BMW 740d provides the driver and its occupants with a smooth yet suitably rapid method of transport, while merely sipping at its fuel tank. The 2,993cc engine features an all aluminium crankcase and third generation common rail fuel injection system offering 600Nm of torque from just 1,500rpm. This enables the BMW 740d to achieve a class-leading zero to 62mph time of 6.3 seconds before going on to an electronically-limited 155mph top speed.

7 Vote(s)

But BMW will also introduce four new variants. Alongside successors to today s two-door coup and cabriolet, there will be a new roadster, the Z2, which could also be built as a small coup model. So as with today s 1-series, the 2011 model features a modular platform with BMW s traditional longitudinal engine layout, aspects of which are set to be shared with the next-gen 3-series. Together with standard rear-wheel drive - a feature that will continue to set the 1-series apart from all of its hatchback rivals - BMW is also considering adding four-wheel drive by using the system developed for the X1.

6 Vote(s)
