Could you look up for me the following:

1841 Census, St George in the East.
DANIEL REARDEN age 50.

I am looking for a Wine Cooper of this name (Reardon/Reardin etc) who would be my 5x Gt Grandfather

I would appreciate information on all family members if possible as well as the census reference as if he is my ancestor I will need to purchase the image at some time.

If this is not a cooper could you check the 1841/1851 census, as when his daughter was married in 1850 he was said to be living in Lower Chapman St, off Cannon ST.

Thanks again for your help:)

Looking at Church Records

Hi All
I will be going to records office in Middlesborough towards end of July, I am checking out my ancestors from the Stainton, and Guisborough areas. Does anyone know how easy it is to have a look at actual church records, I am keen to have a look at my grandfathers baptism record at the Parish church in Stainton.
Regards

Hi, I have been given this but being "wet behind the ears" I don't know what to do with it.
Jane armstrong goes on to marry Tom Harrison (b 1868), my gt gt g/father
I would like to go back up the Armstrong line and in any other direction it leads if possible.
If someone could work their magic I would be very grateful.
Kind regards,
Graham.

Hi,

Can anyone do me a favour and look up Ellis Bishop in the 1891 and 1901 censuses. I am eager to know about his parents and siblings (names, ages, places of birth etc.). Free BMD tells me Ellis was born in the Woodstock registration district in 1888.

Many thanks,

A STONEHAVEN BURIAL - PERHAPS?

I'm hoping RAVEN in Sunny Stoney picks this one up and can help me ;)

I have a relation Christina Wylie Rankin Armit, b. 29 May 1947 in Westray, Orkney; d. 24 Feb 1936, Queens Road, Stonehaven, Kincardineshire.; m. Captain Archibald Robertson, 11 Jan 1875, 129 Kent Road, Glasgow; b. Abt. 1845; d. Bef 1936 but I haven't been able to confirm when :(

The Captain commanded the 749 ton barque "Loch Fleet" from 13 March 1875 until 21 July 1880, the 1528 ton ship "Thomas Stephens" of Liverpool from 1 December 1880 until 26 Feb 1884 after which he took command of the 1214 ton barque "Colwyn" of London - all of them under sail :)

I know, from the Miramar Ship Index, that the "Colwyn" went 'missing' on a voyage from Newcastle, New South Wales to Valparaiso in Chile on 5 December 1892.

My query:
*WAS ARCHIBALD IN COMMAND WHEN SHE FOUNDERED?*
He would only have been aged 47 and so it's quite possible. The last known fact I have was him arriving in Singapore with the "Colwyn" on 11 Sep 1887 having taken 100 days to reach there from Cardiff!

Assuming Christina was buried in Stonehaven, could anyone (RAVEN) maybe check it out and see if there is any mention of Archibald on the headstone that will give me an indication of when he died. Christina was shown as 'Widow of ...' in the Register of Deaths.

Regards

I was given some great information in here but I've lost the paper I wrote it on. This 4 x grt aunt has become an obsession with me, I have finally found her birth in 1820 but am unable to find her marriage which I am sure was around 1843 in Newcastle, she was Jane Cook, born Lamesley, Co.Durham and she married George Shaw who I think was born Newcastle. They had two children, Mary Ann born 1845 and Jane born 1848 in Byker, Newcastle. Jane also had an illegitimate son Joseph born 1838. The only trace of Jane and family that I can find are the two girls with their grandparents in 1851......

This is one brick wall I'd love to knock down and any help here is very welcome and much appreciated

Looking for John Stephenson Wrack

Hi, hope someone out there can provide a bit of light on this subject, John Stephenson Wrack (Stevenson Rack) was born in Hull about 1790/1 (various uk censuses).

He married Mary Carr in 1818 at Saxby All Saints in Lincolnshire, Mary was also born in Hull about 1796.

We have a great deal of information from 1816 onwards but nothing on his birth, it is possible he was born as John Stephenson in Hull in 1791 and sometime over the next 15 years took the surname (W)Rack. At his marraige in 1818 witnesses included Ann Usher (nee Stephenson) and other Stephensons.

Can anyone help either confirm his birth or know why, how, where or when he changed his name, did he do it as part of a dowery, was it a condition of someones will etc.

We have been looking into this for the last 20 or so years and have so far failed to find anyhting to assist us.

Hello everyone,

I am trying to find a Marriage between a Fred Hird and a Veronica...Surname (?). I believe the Marriage would be between 1910 and 1920.

Fred was born in 1881, Haworth, Yorkshire.
In both 1910 & 1920 USA Censuses Fred was living in Worcester Massachusetts.

If anyone can help with this marriage information or any children for Fred and Veronica it would be very much appreciated.

Hi, I am looking for the birth of George Edward Hucker. He was born about 1877 in Portishead, Somerset. His mum was Eliza, born in Pembrokeshire in 1843. In the 1881 census, they were in Okehampton workhouse and she was a widow by then, and that is all I have. Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

He was born about 1877 in Portishead, Somerset. His mum was Eliza, born in Pembrokeshire in 1843. In the 1881 census, they were in Okehampton workhouse and she was a widow by then, and that is all I have. Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

Hi
I am stuck on my Grandmother's mother's side of the family and I was hoping someone could help me on here.
Ann Butler was my great great Grandmother she was born in Hungerford in 1848. Her dad was Moses Butler born in 1837. I don't know who her mother was so if someone could help me out on that I would be grateful.
She married a George Rosier in 1869 in Hungerford, he was born in 1849 and lived till 1887. I don't who his parents are either, so again any help would be appreciated.
She had ten children, they all have the surname Rosier but 3 of them including my great grandmother Rose Rosier, were born after George Died. We think these Children were actually the Children of Ann Butler and Charles Gibbs, her lodger, to my knowledge they never married. I don't know anything about Charles Gibbs except that he was born in 1849 Hungerford. I really would love to know more about him.
If anyone could help me with finding out about this side of my family I would be grateful!
Thanks
Carrie-Anne

I think I may have found my Great Aunt Dorothy but the burial records don't show a first name, a DOB or an age at death. The date of the burial was
20th May 1947 in Melcombe Regis...
I do have a death index reference but I can't find it on the records.
The reference is Plymouth 2nd Quarter. 1947. Vol.7a Pg.661.

Dorothy's full married name was Dorothy May Mayes (nee Crockford), b. 4th May 1903 in Alverstoke, Hampshire.
If I can verify the reference is correct then I can apply for her death certificate.
Any help would be great :o
